Not digging the [see spoiler] system. Feels like an unnecessary relic from Souls.

i don't think that particular system is actually derived from Souls. tons of online games have tried to implement pointless faction systems though at the very least this one has the tangible benefits for choosing one aside what do you think looks the coolest.

speaking of systems though did anyone else notice the reputation system is straight from borderlands?

I wish they didn't remove so many of the enemies that were in the alpha and beta demos. Maybe we were playing the NG+ difficulty on those but the levels feel too barren without more enemies ambushing you and attacking from different places.
I'm sure playing the betas have made it easier now but I couldn't beat Tachinaba at all in the last demo and I just beat him on my first try. Im still early in the game so maybe I'm about to get wrecked.

there are apparently two tachibana fights the story one and the harder optional one which was in the demo.

looks like some players got misled by co-op thing

It's just like she said and TN. "Coop wasn't actually intended to be in the game as it makes it too easy." - At least they provided coop, they gave it as a requirement upon level completion so I can't see how this is bad at all.

i say bad news for casual souls players that relies on co-op mode to get through. Did TN put any disclaimer on requirement for co-op mode in the demo. i'd never heard about that before.

Matchmaking is way easier in Nioh than the souls games. People are just looking for shit to complain about.

In other news...
Wow, did that ice woman boss kick my ass. Her attacks are incredibly difficult to dodge for all being almost utterly unblockable and so many being one-shot kills. Furthermore, the vulnerable windows on her whiffed attacks are incredibly small. The boss before her was a total pushover, too. Weird balancing.
Apparently you're supposed to use ranged weapons, but anyone who masters the melee approach on this one deserves a cookie.

Yeah… I saw a few people on reddit calling it a scam or false advertising, which is pretty ridiculous.
The demo had a disclaimer that none of the features are final and they never promised a full co-op campaign or anything.
It's not that you can't use co-op, it's not that you can't play with your friends, it's not that you can't play whole missions with your friends, it's just that not both people can go in blind.
I guess it sucks for people that bought this as a co-op only game, but that's… kinda stupid imho.

But since this is probably rather easy to change (I mean it's just switch the condition to “missions both players unlocked”), they will probably patch it, if there is enough demand. (and after they changed it people will probably complain co-op missions are not challenging enough…)

@Brute
Felt the same way about those boss fights. The giant spider mini bosses were harder than the actual Spider Lady Boss fight (I guess Boss simply has not enough HP, just went from staggered state to staggered state for me and didn't really do anything at all) in this mission and Yuki-Onna was surprisingly hard. Keeping your distance didn't really make things easy either for me though, the 4 (or 5?) sets of 3 projectiles were pretty hard to dodge and the unblockable dash in got me way too often. Still my favorite boss fight in the first 3 regions.

I'm not going to try to catch up on the thread. Busy week working in two different states and getting acclimated to a new company. That said, I did finally get to start. I'm about four story missions in and did a few side missions and I fucking love this game. The story is handled extremely well and it just looks great. That third mission was a fun surprise considering I thought I had played it in its entirety before.
