And it seems her cheerleader outfit wields a baton instead of her fan. That's two outfits now that changed the fan to something else, which leads me to believe that this will be a regular gimmick for her DLC costumes.

I like the concept of the fans being replaced by other objects for certain costumes. My only wish is that Tengu keeps the fans for the non-cosplay outfits. The fan should be in the vast majority of her outfits because it's iconic.

I agree: they could do the same for the masks giving her funny alternatives, but always according to the principle that you mentioned.
