Figured we could bolster 'Tournament & Community Experiences' while also going down memory lane with a permanent place to post behind the scenes Dead or Alive moments captured at offline tournaments. Could be a sweaty hotel room session, a player or developer interview that happened at a big offline tournament or maybe even an after party at a bar. Feel free to post your memories here so they are preserved in one collective spot.
These videos are typically not the most viewed, the most shared or talked about but still have value of their own and I will post them as I find them, but it would be much more valuable IMO to get your hidden gems that you've had saved for years.
DOA5 was a reboot on life for players and Team NINJA as a whole.
Low production interviews at major offline tournaments were always the best!
I remember when International Play was starting to become common terminology. Sometimes the community would even donate to fly out a top player!
Remember when camera shots for players looked like security footage? How about Dr. Dogg and Kat Gunn doing commentary?
Lopedo just knew everything didn't he? Remember his haircut!?
The Dead or Alive franchise has always been an awesome game to fight for, but these moments were what the players fought to have for themselves and DOA5 felt like the perfect catalyst for grass roots in competitive gaming. We cranked up our numbers, we fought hard for each other, and improvements and memories were made on all fronts. It's too bad that things went down the way they did, but not all is lost and not all is found. Whenever there is a rise there is always a fall to get back up from.
