Anyone remember Neotaku? DOATEC? Early 2000s were good times. But today the only way to access those sites is wayback machine. I was wondering if anyone took the trouble of ripping or rebuilding them since it's tough to find a complete working backup on there.

I remember them, also other places like nice-spike, planetdoa or doaxtreme among others, now we have doaworld and free step dodge and that's it.

Sadly I was never able to give a look on them before their closure, today I would love to have the possiblity to visit them.

Here's a couple random snapshots, although the forums are broken and there's lots of images missing...

I can't believe it's been like 10 years since those days. And if you said to me in 2004 there's going to be only one truly new DOA game in the 10 years following DOA4 I would've never believed you - TN was cranking out new projects on a yearly basis! But here we are, waiting for another DOA5 update..

Edit: Oops forgot about Dimensions. But yeah

God, I just took too long of a time warp down DOAC's news articles. We should really try and use the site to archive some data and such. I did that for the wiki/forum DOA3/DOA2/DOA1 information shortly before the site's databases went down.

I used to go on DOATEC but when the site went buggy the first time I was only able to use it once until it just disappeared.
DOA Central had a really buggy site as well....like you couldn't go on the last page of most if not all threads for some reason. And the huge influx of spam bots.

Yeah, DOAC always had projects started but not finished. At one point you'd get a "You've been blocked" server message for opening a page because the database server was making so many calls to itself that it would block itself temporarily.

Neotaku was the first DOA-related site I frequently visited, and although it's frowned upon by most people here, the folks were really nice there.

It took a lot of time to adjust to DOAC after that. At times, an emotional roller-coaster. Man, those first 3 years weren't easy times.

I went to Neotaku very often back in middle school when I was initially just looking for Kasumi, Helena, Christie and Lei Fang pictures for advanced research procedures. Due to the fact that I frequently played DOA3 at a friends house and DOA2 at an arcade within Hanou, Germany, I just went to different gaming sites for getting information, having no real knowledge of any other DOA related websites.
I also visited Nice Spike but I don't think that website exists anymore (it was a DOAX2 website).

I have been on way too many forums.

But i wouldn't mind resurrecting it if i could.

There are so many old threads I'd like to read, I'm so curious to see what people had in mind, especially in the topic named "Rachel in DOA4 ?".

I never actually browsed these websites before though, because I was only using French forums. But we had the same topics as that "Helena's younger brother is a newcomer" thread or people making fun of Kokoro's melonhead.
