I heard it going to be around 500-600, still a lot though but yeah xD

Would not pay that much for a high-end GPU xD
It's best to check on videocardbenchmark.net where they calculate value ratios based on performance and price. The only factor that isn't considered is power supply so be sure you have a PSU that can handle that as well.

I'd pay at most $350 for a graphics card. Preferably, I'd stick around the $200.

Would recommend getting the GTX 970, it's $319 and ranks 4th in performance for GPUs. That's good value relative to performance.

I wouldn't get the gtx 970, its a beast for the price but it also has gimped memory.

Gtx 970 = 3.5gb Master Race xD

Rather you wait for the 380x/390

Gtx 970 would be excellent for you though if you don't play at resolutions higher than 1080p. 1440p is fine but the gimped memory does cause stutter on some games at that resolutions because you start utilizing more than 3.5gb of ram as the other 0.5 is terribly slow.

Get the 290x. Ever since the 970 fiasco and the 300 series nearby amd dropped the price of the 290x like crazy. You can pick it up for like 280-300 bucks and its only about 10% slower than the 970. Only downside is that it is an oven and uses a lot of power.

Which I can't do since I'm using a Dell-type case with a Dell-type fan, meaning it WILL burn to pieces.

Just have a better chance of buying it now and waiting till I can get employment and build a better PC.

Still won't be able to play the game worth shit.

Man with all the outrage, I hope modders will keep this ship afloat. My only concern so far is the possibility of implementing the Steam VAC that hands out bans if manipulating the folders in the game directory. Hopefully it will only hand out banhammers to multiplayer exploits.

Look at the Ultra SF4 community with their mods...
Unless TN aims for that distinctly in mind, I believe modders are fine.

The last thing TN should be concerned about right now is modders.

I have a feeling we're going to see a day 1 thread titled "PC version keeps crashing and won't work!"

VAC bans only apply to online cheats no? My css n l4d2 are modded to hell never had a problem. Says on the steam page as well.

Yeah, but I'd prefer the R9 290x. At 1080p the GTX 970 wins right now, but as soon as you up the res one step, the R9 290x is generally faster. I want to upgrade to an Ultra-wide Freesync monitor somewhere down the line. Also, I personally don't buy Intel nor nVidia on principle. Too many shady business practices. I prefer AMD even though they're the underdog. Generally they're ahead of their time, but people don't see it.
In any case, I want clarity on DX12 before buying anything. Between PR, the rumors and leaks, the truth is obscured.

Just upgrade your power supply(VERY IMPORTANT) and your case fans and you will be fine.

They can't even get the MP out in time.

970 isn't the first card to split the SM like that. Several amd and nvidia cards have been designed like that in the past. Its really not an issue, and if you're going to push ultra hd or 4k you should be doing SLI or using the 980 anyways even if the 970 had a full 4gb. I love my 970 personally. Runs every game great and I ended up getting a second one. Handles 4k with no issues.

Personally I've never ran into an issue with VAC when I edit files in the games directory. Unless it does something in MP to create cheats I don't believe VAC cares about anything else.

You still only getting 4gb with SLI. I have a hard time believing you have no stuttering issues at 4K. What games do you play? I know Shadow of Mordor and Far Cry stutter the 970 at 1440p on ultra.

970 is inadequate for anything above 1080p. It also makes SLI with it a mute move. At least until DX12 arrives, where memory can be stacked.

Looks like Team Ninja might go the nvidia route and just stay quiet until this dies down. They removed any mentioning of the soft skin engine on the steam page.
