I hope so, but they have a precedent with DW8 Xtreme Legends for PC not giving next-gen graphics and online. However, DW8 Empires comes out next month on PC so it should be a good indicator where DOA5LR should be headed.

To repeat, this is Team NINJA's first PC game.

The DW series is handled by Omega.
The Yaiba game was handled by the American studio they worked with.

So it's not 1:1 and people are getting their panties up in a bunch for shared publisher. As if Bethesda Softworks has the same team do the PC versions of The Elder Scrolls, Rogue Warrior, Fallout: New Vegas, Brink, DOOM BFG, and Rage just because they're under the same publisher...

I stand corrected. I certainly hope the outsourced team knows what they're doing, I've heard it shouldn't be that difficult to port the game if they use the Xbox One source code as it is similar to the PC's.

Off-topic: Appreciate the efforts of going to Shacknews to show the serious aspects of the game

I don't get why TN "the real OG's" developing DoA5LR for PC are so silent and don't provide any decent information (even if it were approximate)
... asking TK Europe is pointless since they obviously know nothing and even say so.

The latest update shoving the release to 30th march (+41 days) was again a information
without telling anything but "yup not ready" - leaving it open to the painfully obvious*.

* quick money grub before the big dogs roll out their fighters (not that i care about those)
** not wanting to hurt the console release sales
*** even more horrifying having to wait up to 3 Months until June to have an Online Mode ...
(= "within 3 months after releases") wouldn't say it'll RIP the thing but ugly nonetheless

My bet: the PC Ver. will be the very same as for PS4/XBO even if they
keep it silent till the very release or add some features later on.

I really do hope it's a cultural thing, or just plain ignorance of us PC gamers. It'd really be bad if they're 'hiding' stuff because it's bad, no one likes companies that engage in such behaviour. But for now, let's wait and see

Well they were very quick to confirm that preorder bonuses weren't being cancelled after the delay, so they seem to be aware of online chatter. Now given all the concern about versions differences, you'd think they would respond to that too, but maybe the answer wouldn't be good for business. That's my thinking anyway. It would be very interesting if they leave it up to customers to find out for themselves on release day lol

It makes sense to be silent.

If it's worse than the PS4/XB1 version, it will hurt its own sales.
If it's equal or somehow better, it will hurt the PS4/XB1 versions' sales.
So no matter how it turns out, the information won't do any good for them.

I think they will spill the beans once they're done collecting the preorder dosh on 2/20.

Based on my knowledge of Team Ninja, they will do everything in their power to make it stand on equal ground with the current-gen versions.

Based on my knowledge of the PC modding community, it will be made better regardless of how Team Ninja leaves it.

In fact if there's a DX9 option we can probably get it running better than the PS4 version on day 1. ENB filters are an amazing thing.

Wait what? The PC version will look better even without modding because of OGSSAA.

Now that the XBone/PS4 versions are out. Most of the devs can focus on building the PC version.

Based on their tweet, what they claimed was that the port won't be based off the consoles but rather arcade builds. Hopefully they'll add some of the next-gen features such as hairstyle options.

Seeing that the minimum requirements of the CPU is an i5 processor, it's likely optimized to use the most out of quad-core processors but it still stands that those requirements are a placeholder.

Oh? Interesting. Where did that tweet come from?

It's still purely speculation based on KT's tweet that the PC version won't be console-based. All signs point to using the arcade engine, which is basically a big box of PC hardware. It shouldn't be too difficult to port if that's the case other than the differences between Intel/AMD CPU's and Nvidia/Radeon GPU's

Yes, I've also heard this speculation elsewhere and it makes sense. But still, Koei Tecmo pointed out that Hairstyles are only in for the better consoles. I really hope there will be some infos soon, because it's normally a bad sign when specs aren't even up 1month before release .

Is it possible the delay was caused because TN wanted to include next gen's content in the PC version after seeing people were worried ?

Possible? Sure, that could be one reason I suppose, but it's unlikely they'll ever go into detail about why it was delayed beyond what they've already said.

Well, we're less than a month away from the official PC release according to the date they posted and no screenshots nor info thus far. I'll start worrying if TN doesn't release any info by the middle of the month. We could be looking at another delay...

Yes, it's a sad state so far, regarding their communication with the PC community. Besides their completely stupid appeal to modders, they haven't communicated about anything related to PC. But hey, another delay should mean another free costume set, so at least that's a plus. Gotta stay positive :D
