I'm ashamed of myself for never actually taking part in this thread before, aside from voting "yes" back when it first started. I love Leon and have no idea why I kept ignoring this thread. I missed out on a lot of great fanservice. Man, those photoshops were hilarious.
Leon was my secondary character after Tengu in DOA4 and DOAD. You have no idea how shitty it is to have not just your main character cut from the game, but even your secondary character too, leaving you with absolutely nothing to fall back on. I would totally pay to get Leon in DOA5. There's something seriously wrong with the fact that there isn't any headbutting in this game.

I hope so. And even though this isn't on topic, but I hope Momiji will be DLC or in DOA6! But I signed! Leon deserves to be in this game more than any other character, and his story was so sad but "passionate." Definitely one of my favorite characters!
I highly doubt this is true, but I'd love to be wrong.

I tweeted that photoshop to TN ... but, they've been giving us radio silence.. again ..
apart from that wink I got a while back (which was more or less a direct answer to my tweet on leon), there really hasn't been much talk on the matter...
Tom Lee did mention something big that is DOA related at E3 ... is it as big as Leon tho ? I don't know.

Something big that is DOA related at E3? Believe me I'm not getting my hopes up but as far as "Big" the term is subjective when it comes to TN so I'll throw out the possibilities of what could be the big news regarding DOA. And since you said DOA and not DOA5 that opens up a few more possibilities.
- Expansion (New Characters, Stages, etc)
- DOA5+ Content/Features being ported to 360/PS3
- New DOA Sidestory game (Code Cronos getting off the ground(?))
- Yet ANOTHER balance patch in the works
- Hayate/other DOA characters possibly appearing in a NG game
- Another free costume pack/all costumes bargain deal
If you have any other ideas feel free to share, but these are the most likely. With the first being the most wanted/anticipated but the least likely "trollface".

I'm thinking of something more along the lines of an expansion (DoA5 Ultimate) including Leon, Ein, Tengu, and Yosuke Hayashi's "dream cameo" Ryo Hazuki (whom I will immediately spazz out over and squeal like a little schoolgirl). I'm totally up for free costumes and Code Chronos being revived. The latter half seems more interesting though.
