[Poll] Lag in DOA5U

It's been about a week and 5U's netcode seems very broken. No solo ranked, inaccurate connection ratings, lag, etc.

For the poll, "often" is in relation to other fighting games you've played. If DOA has noticeably more lag than Tekken, SF, etc. then choose yes. If the same amount of lag or less, then choose no.

Maybe I've had really good luck, but the small handful of games I've played have had very little lag (I only have 12 down 1 up, Idaho...what can I do). The big problem I'm having is being unable to find ranked matches.

The ranked match issue isn't the netcode, it's something up behind the scenes with matchmaking.

In any case, I've yet to really experience much in the way of lag. I did have one notable exception where I had a fight that, every few seconds, would basically go in stop motion, start normally, stop motion, etc. It was incredibly annoying and I think it was the other person having some network issues or somebody else in their house eating up bandwidth. I'd fought the same person before just fine.

Vast improvement otherwise and I fight people from around the country regularly. I have even fought a few people from Europe and had little to no issue in comparison to similar conditions in other fighters. Given how many fighters I play I feel I have a pretty qualified opinion.

Lag really isn't an issue, for me anyway. My only gripe is with these matchmaking issues, however I have noticed I am starting to slowly find more matches in solo. Perhaps soon I'll be finding games instantly (Or so I would hope.)

For myself, vanilla's netcode was absolute trash. DOA5U is much better and I don't get many bad connection, but when I do they are really bad. What is interesting is that after DMZing my 360, I didn't notice any difference from playing without DMZ.

My connection hasn't been doing so hot either. Once in a blue moon I'll get a match where the lag still exists but it doesn't impact the match as much. Then I have matches where I would rather take an instant K.O. then suffer through the constant lag.

How the HELL do you pull 80+ download and 12 upload? We have the most expensive comcast package outside of business ones here and I hit 20-25 (40 direct connected) and about 3-5 upload.

when I upgraded to broadband 100 I was still using my D-Link router and was only going up to 50. I went to the store and bought the top of the line router from netgear I started getting up to 100. So it could be your router.

I couldn't play online at all in 5. But now I'm able to have generally lag free games in 5U.

Haha. I can't think of the exact package off the top of my head, but it includes up to 60 Mbps, plus I pay for an additional boost as well.

For me lets just say depends on the day... Yesterday for example i had about 15 matches with a friend whos on the same country with a 5 bar connections and they were the best matches i ve had for doa5, the day before though with the same person its was... Lets just say i didnt have any fun lol

Well cant put this in a technical term, but the lag on PS3 is caused by core fighters and digital versions. Also 10 upload is decent, download doesn't matter for playing games, and ping is the most important thing, but that is based on server to server hosting.
