Rank abuse

Tons of players are abusing ranked right now by being allowed to refuse matches based on stats, username, etc. . . From high ranked players to low ranked players.

It's been like this since 1.03, but it's espeically bad now since more players are playing and abusing it.

Ranked shuld only show region and connection. It's imperative that Team Ninja fixes this in their next patch. Hopefully they reset the rankings as well to put cheaters on the same level as everyone else.

I for one am a proud cheater, and I'm still an F rank. I'm surprised no one got on my case about it.

I still see your point though.

I've been complaining to TN about this since 1.03, but obviously not many others did since it's still in...

The real problem is how long we have to wait for a ranked match and ranked matches are flawed online no matter what fighting game it is.

No fighting game lets you see all your opponents stas in ranked.

This isn't true at all. I have no issues finding ranked matches, I have issues finding ranked matches with people that want to play the damn game. This just adds to the wait times, especially for players with good stats.

That problem would be relieved if we didn't have to wait so long for a ranked match. People are going to avoid fights in ranked matches if given the option. We all have issues finding ranked matches it takes far longer than it should. If it didn't take so damn long to find ranked matches then players ducking fights shouldn't be an issue.

I'm telling you if we found ranked matches more frequently it wouldn't be so bad.

They shouldn't be given the option based on stats. Only connection and region should be a factor. If you don't want to fight strong players that's what search criteria is for.

With tons of players cancelling match making left and right trying to cherry pick wins it's going to congest the matchmaking system. Making it harder for others to find matches.

TN said that the matchmaking problems are a result of too many players being online.
This might be the case on PS3 because of the Free-to-play-version but this is surely not the
case on 360.
I honestly think that there are really only 3-4 people searching for a ranked game at the same time.
And when 2 of those 3 people refuse to play with me because I beat them before then it's a serious
problem.

The fact that they added in the option to remove previously played players is just insane.

I agree. This option is just stupid
The fact that you see the opponent's stats and favourite char is even more stupid.

I still feel the first problem TN needs to fix first is being able to find ranked solo matches faster and as far as opponents ducking matches give it time lots of new players will do this till they get better. I agree its annoying but what makes it far worse for me is finally getting a match only to have someone just back out.

I really don't think it would be so bad again if it didn't take so long to find a ranked solo match. Its just like getting kicked out of the lobby just because your beating everyone in the lobby. Give it some time the more people feel comfortable with playing better players the more your going to get challenged.

There are a lot of new players and you have to understand some of them don't understand the mindset of losing isn't the end of the world. It might not be players wanting to just get easy wins but players who are just learning to play the game who just want to get a better understanding.

Granted you get better by playing better players but your not going to learn anything from getting beat by someone that's just going too totally annihilate you. I do think its stupid to duck matches when theres a rank filter but letter grades don't really mean shit when its taking as long as it is to find a match.

So players end up looking up your stats instead of your letter rank and this is another reason why improving the speed you find matches would help alleviate this problem.

I usually go into training mode and set throw downs on as it seems to be quicker to find matches this way - at least it is for me. But I do seem to get the same pool of people and then once in a while I do get someone I've never played before though.

PS: where do you look up people's stats?

TN doesn't realize how scrubby the majority of online players are that aren't willing to go and face strong comp. They're still caught up to the old JP arcade mentality where people would always want to fight strong players - sadly, online scrubs don't have this mentality.

But the problem is that some players sure do go out of their way to make you feel like it is. I should know. It's happened to me to a point where if I go anywhere online, I'll get trash-talked viciously to no end. That said, I don't blame the majority of new players for being afraid of losing, 'cause we got so many assholes in the mix spreading gossip and making folks hate each other to preserve their own ego, resulting in people being discouraged to go to offline tournies.

What needs to change are the blown-up egos and shadiness of some players who rub in your losses without the slightest intent of encouraging you. They're the ones ruining the experience to begin with IMO.
