I also wanna know, what is the deal with tag essentially unplayable? The lag is UNREAL - rank or lobby!
Ayane 8KK and Hitomi's 4KK being used together
Kasumi's PKK6K
Everything launches and almost everything relaunches
You can get heavy damage off of small launchers on NH
You can get a 30 hit combo with Kasumi and Phase on Alpha in the corner where the sakura tree is just by alternating PKK (Kasumi) and PKK/PKKK(switch on the first kick w/ the auto wtfever) off of Kasumi's 7K launcher after CB and if that doesn't scream bullshit then idk what does.

That's just ... WOW! No words! No, I mean where there's heavy lag in tag matches, period and there doesn't have to be a player who is a red-bar! I know it happens when someone joins/leaves a lobby, but when there's still excessive lag. IA, tag bites though I play it here and there. Solo has its share of blatant lag, too.

In my experience there is lag in all matches online unless both players have extremely solid connections. Tag is even worse because it measures the connections of all the players in the matches along with the lobby. If one person has a shitty connection in the match, then everyone will have to deal with excruciating lag. Tag being broken as shit doesn't help matters. Online, Tag just becomes a shitfest of nonsense. As for "laggy" characters, more than half the cast become bullshit in lag including Ayane especially. Rig and Alpha are also really dumb online.

There is latency is every match, even 5-bar. 5-bar is NOT the same feel as an offline match at all. I played a Brad player recently in a friend's lobby, who was 1-bar and said it wasn't laggy lol. That's how I know people are way too comfortable playing in that. Because we all know Brad's 5P can totally counter hit Ein's 5P in neutral R1F....

I swear if the only person I ever got to fight from now on was Ryujin, I'd be happy with this game. He's fun as hell to fight. I get to actually think.

Netplay sucks.
When I met RyuJin at SJ8, he was the most chill dude I encountered. Very down to earth, which is in stark contrast to his beastly Jann Lee. Incredible footsies player that knows how to keep out and makes every movement count. I envy you that you get to play such a talented player regularly. And yes, netplay does indeed suck. Playing scrubs ruins my fundamentals.

I rediscovered my love for Ayane against him today. I was playing Marie, and dude, that cute little T-Rex needs to get buffed before I can consider really putting time into her.

Ayane's buttons work, plus I've been using SSK like I use Noel's 4D lol. "oh that last move didn't track? HOLD THIS JUGGLE REAL QUICK"

You sure Marie Rose needs buffs? Everytime I watch SonicFox use her, he tears shit up. It's just when you go from Ayane to Marie you get too accustomed to being able to push buttons anywhere on the map. Marie can only push buttons up to about two feet in front of her. On the otherhand Marie is miles easier to use than Ayane overall.

The characters in this game are fine as is lol. I hear people already saying NyoTengu needs buffs. People really need to stop with this buffs and nerfs bullshit and learn the game.

In general I agree, but do you think that even Ein doesn't need anything? :(

Ein is fine, I think no one's willing to play him offline where it matters because he has no easy win button.

If a character even shows the slightest amount of "I need to work in order to win", players will not play them offline. Only players that will are those that enjoy that character or are very understanding/very good with that character.

Only person in the U.S. maining Phase 4 is Bboy Dragon, for example.

Marie has a huge range issue. Unless that gets buffed, I can't play her. Shit on me for it all you want, but that's just how it is.

No one's shitting on anyone lol. And no, that doesn't need a buff, Marie does what she's designed to do and has her weaknesses like everyone else does. Utilize what she has and make due with it and learn to compensate for her weaknesses. That is what makes a player strong with their main character.

Starting this Friday till 11/14/2014, I will host Ayane sessions by request, to help players out that want to learn the character.

These sessions will be for those who have an interest in picking up Ayane, or would like to learn more about utilizing the character. I will be doing these player sessions by request, so if anyone is interested, all you need to do is let me know here on my profile, in the Ayane forums, on PSN or XBL.

These will be small, 4 player lobbies, and I will be using a mic for PSN. XBL I will have to use Skype. Voice communication will make the training sessions a lot easier. I will go over the basics, her Integrated Movement, general fundamentals, how to establish a neutral game, and any questions or concerns someone may have regarding the character, or themselves.

Y'know, when I look back and really review every bit of footage of my play in DOA5U, I've really come a long way as not just an Ayane player, but a player in general. I used to be really sloppy in the beginning, and wasn't really aware of much as I thought either. Spacing was sloppy, I wouldn't whiff punish, I wouldn't capitalize much as I could, I was a pretty sloppy player, and my mindset was quite lousy.

I realized these things back in 2013, so my biggest concern was to learn and establish my fighting game fundamentals. I searched and found tons of articles and blogs by various street fighter players that are known nationally, and worldwide. I would read, study, and watch a ton of street fighter play; SFII series, Alpha II, SFIII series, and SF4 series.

All just to get the idea of what fundamentals really are. To know what conditioning, footsies, a neutral game, punishment, spacing, whiff punishment, to know what all of these things and other aspects really are. I would practice everything and try everything and just learn it all through tons of trial and error. I've done this all throughout the entire first half of this year and have gotten really proficient in it.

My defense and fundamentals have kept me on par with a lot of others great players I've had the pleasure of playing in casuals and in tournament sets and I've given them a lot of trouble with that alone. I am not an easy player to read. I've been able to establish my fighting game fundamentals and refine them throughout the year, I'm proud of that. As most are already aware, I do not play at the usual pacing you see often in DOA. I get a feel for your playstyle, download it, then condition you and force you to make mistakes at times without you realizing it. Or overwhelm you with my spacing (offline, lol@online and lag).

But there are two things I need to improve on now; maintaining a stronger offense and strengthening my reactions to certain situations. Doing so, I'll be whiff punishing even more than I already do and no one likes being smacked by a 4K or Drill kick for making mistakes, lol. Maintaining a stronger offense will make "me" even more formidable than I already am (there is tons of Ayane tech I've shared lately, and even more I haven't even brought to light yet and it's going to fry people's brains once I start implementing it all).

I've been studying this game A LOT throughout the year, there is so much more I am aware of these days that I wasn't before. Studying the character roster, strike and throw speeds, strike and throw recovery, hitboxes, hurtboxes, frame data on each individual strike. Hit and block detection, strike behavior in stun threshold, etc.

I have such a deep and thorough understanding of this game's ground game system these days, it's so easy to find set ups for a character. And I have too many with Ayane now. This game's ground game really is good, should have been figured out by everyone a long time ago (even some of the other strong players don't know what it is lol). This is such a great game and it really is balanced. There are no OP or broken BS in 5U, it's just people not knowing their match ups or not bothering to really flesh them out. You don't need a tracking move to hit Christie out of her JAK stance transitions.

I have an even bigger understanding of my character choice and each strike individually, each string. I know exactly how much frame advantage I'm left at after each knockdown, after a force tech, in stun threshold, certain counter hits (well I have everything documented anyway. Most of the numbers are in my head but not all of it, yet).

I finally understand what Ayane really is now. It's just on me increasing my play more so I can put this character out there at an even higher level than I have.

So, I may not have won a tournament major "yet" this year, but I definitely will. I learned A LOT this year as a player and I'm just going to keep moving forward and improve each day as I have been. I am growing player, but a strong one too. There isn't a single player I am afraid of in DOA and I am coming after everyone next year at the chances I get, offline. Both my mindset and mentality are much better, more positive, and more clear than they were before months ago.

In the meantime though, I will be training. I will be a stronger HajinShnobi for my Hajinmon brethren. The Hajinmon Representative will be ready.
