How do you guys see the roster of SCVI being? Based on the popularity poll, and what Hoshino seems to prefer, I can see it being like this:

Siegfried
Mitsurugi
Taki
Yoshimitsu
Setsuka
Talim
Yun-Seong
Seong Mi-Na
Xianghua
Kilik
Maxi
Sophitia
Cassandra
Hilde
Raphael
Amy
Nightmare
Tira
Zasalamel
Astaroth
Cervantes
Voldo
Ivy

The above characters have likely guaranteed their place in the next game, due to their performance in the poll, among other things.

Others that might return are:

Pyrrha (due to being an Alexandra girl)
Algol (important to the story, has a unique moveset, and is a popular character in terms of gameplay though he placed low on the poll)
Z.W.E.I. (unique fighting style and placed the second-highest of all the newcomers)
Viola (highest ranking newcomer and unique fighting style, though the whole Amy/Viola thing might make things a bit tricky for her to return)
Aeon/Lizardman (a staple of the series, though he placed low even when accounting for the combined votes of Aeon and Lizardman)
Rock (oft-forgotten character who placed low and was perhaps the only character people wanted to be replaced in SCV, however Namco hasn't forgotten him since he was a possible candidate for LS)
Hwang (made the Top 25 of the poll, which says a lot. Still, he's been absent forever now so he's not be a safe bet)
Dampierre (the series' joke character, though he's not the most well-liked, as evident by the poll)
Edge Master (the series' mimic character, though he placed at the very bottom of the poll)
Elysium (has huge villain potential, being the incarnation of Soulcalibur. Whether Elysium returns playable or just a story character remains to be seen)

The following characters I don't see returning in the next game:

Patroklos (quite possibly the most hated character in the series, and even Namco knows this seeing as how they threw him under the bus)
Xiba (outranked by Kilik in the poll, and it wasn't even close. I also doubt people were voting for the mimic version of Kilik)
Leixia (one of the lowest ranked characters in the poll, even below Patroklos. Xianghua returning would mean she has no purpose in the next game)
Natsu (Her master outranked her in the poll and it wasn't even close, not to mention that Taki was put in LS while Natsu wasn't. I don't see her returning, especially not over Taki)
Li Long (has been absent forever and replaced by Maxi, who is much more popular than him)
Charade
Olcadan
Abyss

I'm excited to see SCVI. It's likely to be that return-to-form SC game that's been missing for a long time. That's all I wanted to begin with was a game with the classic roster of fighters, and it looks like that's whats going to happen. Hoshino clearly prefers the old over the new, and the originals outranking their replacements in the poll just proves that they shouldn't have been replaced to begin with.

As much as I want the core characters in, they'll probably find a way to squeeze in everyone, or at least most popular I hope.

Good thing then that all the SCV newcomers failed to make it past the 20s, and only one made the Top 25. I really hope we won't have to deal with Patrollklos anymore after this.

Yeah, I strongly dislike Patrokolos. He was such a prick in SC5

I hope SCVI story take place right after the events of SCIV, so we don't have to deal with the time skip problem for older characters like Seong Mina, Cassandra, etc...

That's the mistake they made, they skipped 17 years for no reason when they could have just did 2-3. I have no problem playing as a 27 year old Sophitia, but they seem so iffy on aging up the female characters, it's really unfortunate. Hilde is really the only girl who aged, and even then she looks the same, just with a haircut and less shapely armor.

She would've had wrinkles if they would have aged her, and of course they don't want their sex symbol to be old

I had personally thought about having a time skip before, but a much shorter one with all the old characters returning. Something like two years would do good. A 31-year-old Taki wouldn't be all that different from a 29-year-old Taki, for example. It would also slightly age characters like Tira, Talim, and Amy. A seventeen year time skip where so many characters are cut yet hardly any returning characters aged from it was way too extreme, so a two year time skip would've done a lot better. It would seem a little ridiculous if all of these events happened and not one character has a single birthday, after all.

Fortunately, it seems like this was just the mistake Daishi made. Which is why whenever I think of Project Soul I'm glad Daishi is no longer around. I rag on him a lot on 8WR, but the truth is he isn't bad. At least, if he were doing a completely separate IP. He just shouldn't have any control over SC. Hoshino clearly cares more about the iconic characters of the series, and hosted a poll just to make sure that the audiences agreed, which they did.

I agree with the two year timeskip since it would be strange if in the same year all of that happened with pat and Phyrra a new disaster happened. It would let characters get over what happened and also yeah two years isn't going to spell disaster for any of the characters and make them unable to fight.

I like when characters get older and evolve as time goes on, I liked that in doa5 it was two years later and characters had moved on and grown up. And I know people like Marie and Honoka but I still up doa6 takes place atleast one year later and their 19/20 in it.

What I want is: let the next SC games come after SCIV and let SCV to be the last story-line talking. So we will not see Pat and Phyrra again.

Omega Pyrrah is the better character. She doesn't cry and apologize every five seconds xD
Unh unh, no way, Pyrrah is the best of the two! XD Omega Pyrrah is ok, but I hate how corrupted and pained they made her...I get sad whenever I play as her, I never want to see her like that again. :-( Plus her moveset sucked, she lacked versatility and safety unlike the original, and she was so freakin' unsafe. The only good things about her were her taunt and the heaven to hell grapple throw she had.

....Maybe if they changed omega pyrrah into yandere pyrrah, then we'll talk.

Omega Phyrra has those cool ass demon eyes but besides that I prefer Phyrra without the urge to kill everything. Alpha Pat though was just boring not to mention annoyed me since he was using Setsuka's fighting style instead of Setsuka herself using it.

I liked the style, but it was less dynamic and less interesting without the actual umbrella in the style. Plus it was way too difficult to use, and they force you to use the style in the story mode, which is tough considering you have to win three battles consecutively to win a full match.
