Such a hype trailer! Can't wait to see Mewtwo. It was really odd for them to reveal Bowser Jr. but not Duck Hunt Dog (although I will admit Bower Jr. is becoming one of my favorite characters b/c he's so much fun to use). It was a good way for them to introduce 8 player brawl I guess.

Also they're replacing Smash Run on Wii U with that Mario Party ripoff? o_O A lot of people complain about how random and incomplete Smash Run is but I love it. It's the closest thing the game has to the side scroller back in Brawl and it's fun smashing dozens of enemies all at once and collecting the powerups.

Smash Run only works because every 3DS player has their own screen. I guess they could technically do split-screen on the Wii U, but they would have to zoom out pretty far to not compromise each players field of view, but that would make it harder to see whats going on with everything so small. The way that mode is set up, it's just a better fit for multiple screens since it was designed from the get-go to be a 3DS-only mode.

Maybe from an offline perspective but online for the 3DS when you play Smash Run you never actually see or interact with any of your online opponents until the final battle so it could've worked on the Wii U just as well. What I'm really getting at though is I wanted a story mode again with the side scroller. Even if only 2 players could play it was such an amazing aspect of Brawl. :/

This. I recently got the Wii U Wind Waker bundle..and I have to say...I enjoy this console very much + hoping for the new smash game. I haven't played smash since the N64, such good times where I use to play with my two cousins. I am hoping they have some sort of story coop.

Well no matter what the game will be amazing on the Wii U. I'm just being nitpicky. XD There are many ways to have team-based gameplay including event mode now. If you really want to try out story coop you could always buy Brawl and play it on the Wii U. ;)

If anyone wants to play me in Smash 4, I'm down for some matches. Reply here or send a message on my profile about playing. Friend code is to the left.
I'll go ahead and add you, so we can play later on. My friend code is to the left as well.
Dat Mewtwo reveal though. I wonder if he'll be any different from Melee or Project M...? I'm planning on getting both versions regardless, but it's nice to get some free DLC. Plus, if you plan on sticking with one version, you can still purchase him from Eshop.
All of these different modes look to be pretty fun, for passing the time when I'm burned out from playing For Glory. Plus, with things like Master and Crazy Orders, I can assume that obtaining custom moves will definitely be easier in Wii U version.

Nintendo released a Version 1.0.3 balance update for Smash 3DS, which you can download at the 3DS eShop.

I hear there were some hidden buffs and nerfs to certain characters. Test your findings.

From what I found:

Little Mac's f.Smash and f.u.Smash were nerfed at max charge from 27 to 26.
Little Mac's u.Smash was buffed at max charge from 27 to 28.

Can't test if his auto guard properties have been touched in the following moves:
B
f.Smash
u.Smash

After adjusting to playing against Little Mac I can say he just needs less armor on his smash attacks for him to feel more balanced to me. He can have what he has on his specials but I think armor on his smashes is too much. He's really good in FD stages but when all you have to do is knock him off the stage and his recovery sucks (and his air game sucks) he is fairly balanced in a sense.

Edit: Apparently Little Mac's side B has had a range increase. We can call him "Suicide" Mac from now on.

You can always shorten the distance by pressing B before you reach full distance.

Since I haven't noticed an increase in the delay before you can short distance B it, I'd say that's more of a buff as he can reach further with it and avoid projectiles easier.

So we all know that Smash Wii U is coming out in two weeks. While you wait, check out the trailer for Project M 3.5. The update will be released this Friday.

Dear....god. I didn't think the new update would release so soon, yet they've done so much! Man, I can't wait to test some things in the lab. Hopefully I can play someone online, too.

Awesomeness. Can't wait for it to come out. It's a shame that the online for the Wii got taken down, but then again Project M had so many desyncing issues that it's actually a good thing.

Preloading Smash as I type this. Nintendo swears I'll be able to do the last download at midnight Eastern on launch day so they had best not fuck it up. I only did it because I didn't feel like going to a store to get it after all. It's downloading nearly 12GB at the moment so I suppose we'll see.

Well, I pre-ordered my copy with the Gamestop exclusive (GC controller and I think some extra stuff). Sitting on that now.

That said, I still need to get a WiiU. I'm probably waiting a bit for that.
