Outside of Metroid Prime I'm actually not the biggest fan of Nintendo games, in fact I haven't been a fan of any of their consoles since SNES. The main reason I got into WiiU was third party (Bayonetta, Xenoblade, Fatal Frame, Devil's Third etc.) Nintendo's killing it when it comes to actual exclusives, i.e. stuff you can't also play on your laptop

BTW any Palutena users? I really want to pick her up (because lasers are cool) but man it's tough.

I main Ike and Palutena, what problems are you having?

Perfect Pivoting. The wavedashing of Smash U.

"Zaw Dancing"? Really?

GIF_153797_rajoy_no_sabe_nada_de_los_sobres.gif

Smash players make up the funniest (stupidest) names for technical terms.

I mean it's a Just Frame Perfect Pivot, or one would argue the Perfect Pivot is that and the leniency would just be a Pivot. But Zaw Dancing? ...

You know what, I give up.

Smash is as casual as you can get, so their "technical" terms have some really zany names.

Also, I played some Smash 3DS recently and decided to try out Rosalina and give Diddy Kong another chance. Both of these characters are fun. Rosalina is an interesting take on the puppet style character, but my only complaint about her is how floaty and light she is. Diddy Kong is just a beast and I can see why people would consider him top tier at the moment. But, as we know in any game, it's about player skill.

As you guys may heard, Alex Strife (co-owner of APEX Tournaments) has stepped down from his position. The reason why he stepped down from his position is because of the recent evidence that was shown against him, dealing with harassment between women and transwomen (one of them was underage). The information was revealed at the /r/smashbros Reddit page.

I may not be a moderator for FSD, but I would like to say something: harassment of any kind will not be tolerated at all. If you feel that someone is currently harassing you in any way, shape, or form, please contact a forum moderator or admin.

(Double Post)

Here is the standard tournament ruleset for Smash Bros for Wii U. (Taken from http://smashboards.com/data/sponsor/Apex 2015 Rulebook v3.pdf)

  • Stock and Time are set to 3 stock and 8 minutes for doubles
  • Custom Fighters are off
  • Mii Fighters are legal
    • Each setup will have 1-1-1-1 Mii Swordrunner/Brawler/Gunner available. They will be classified as Default A, etc.
    • No other specials for Mii Fighters will be allowed
    • You cannot transfer your own Mii into the setup.
II. Stages
Starter Stages

III. Additional Rules
  • Stage Striking: The player will strike stages from the stage starter list. The other player will strike one stage and the remaining stage will used in the first game.
  • Stage Clause: A player may not use the previous stage they won on the previous set.
  • Stage Bans: During the stage ban phase, the player who won the previous game may ban two stages from either the Starter or Counterpick lists.
  • Self-Destruct Moves: Whoever ends the match with a self-destruct move, the player who uses that move wins the match based on what the results screen says.
  • Team Colors: Player's character color must match the team's color to avoid confusion.
  • Alternate Controllers: Wii U Gamepad, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL, New Nintendo 3DS XL, and Nintendo 2DS are banned.
  • Bowser Jr.'s Clown Car Glitch: If the player uses the glitch, players are to pause the match and call a TO or referee to confirm the glitch has happened. Once that has happened, players can reset the match to the same stock, time, and percentage to where the glitch took place.

2 stock and 6 minutes? Damn.

I feel that the ban on custom moves will hurt some some characters too. I can't see Ganondorf being even remotely viable without custom moves.

But then again, I haven't payed attention to the meta for this game in months.

2 stock and 6 minutes huh? I kind of figured this would be the tournament rule, seeing as how it takes longer to kill someone in the 3DS/Wii U versions. The alternate controllers don't surprise me either, but it would suck for people who are used to playing on their 3DS, like myself.

All stages, on random select, full items, 6 players, high drop rate. Lets see how good these fuckers REALLY are lol.

I can understand 2 stock and 6 minutes for singles. 3 stock and 8 minutes for doubles is new to me, since they usually have the same setting for singles and doubles in past Smash games.

It's possibly to allow for a team stock steal.

So it looks like Mewtwo isn't the only character that will be on Smash 4. There's a rumor that Rayman will the next DLC character for Smash Bros for Wii U/3DS
