For Street Fighter you forgot that there were tooo many "Similar" characters!

Ryu,Ken,Dan,Akuma,Gouken,Sean.Sakura .and probably i forgot someone XD

we already have

Hitomi - Ein
Kasumi - Alpha-152 - Phase-4
Leon - Bayman

we need more new unique characters XD
In fairness, Hitomi was originally to replace Ein(as well as Hayate) as with Leon for Bayman.

But they ended up bring the OGs back anyhow, looks like we have another successor character in the brinks.

Haha,

Where did people get the idea that Hitomi was meant to replace Ein?

Well, if this wasn't her purpose I think that at least TN tried to trick the fans giving them that idea deciding to keep Ein a secret character in DoA3.

Looking the ordinary roster of 16 character the message seemed to be; "Now that Ein is returned to be the ninja Hayate, we need of another Karateka to replace its moveset in the roster, so welcome to Hitomi"

Based on the 2nd picture

By looking at the moon n the position of its angular lighting hitting the character I can confirm it is not ayane, tho the detail in the mask and ignoring the human flesh I believe it is tengu cuz where the moon is located

Yeah second pic further proves it's not Ayane... I called all of this lol If you're going to release DLC characters in a series known for nothing but sex it just makes more sense for all of them to be women
I'm going to LOL if this is a male because I'm still seeing male Tengu. No one can really see the bottom of the face at all, but jump conclusions assuming it to be female. That's obviously a new stage duh.

If It's Tengu in a female form, be grateful the fighting style you enjoyed is at least coming back.
Because I remember how satisfied you were with using Hitomi as a replacement for Ein.

For those of you saying: "this is how the industry works, herp derp. Deal with it." No. You wanna know how the industry works? Make a legit game that isn't balanced like shit and then you can develop a reputation and marketing strategy that doesn't revolve around titties 24/7. Seems to work with pretty much every other 3D fighter.

I'm tired of having to constantly lower my expectations when I don't really ask for much to begin with. If Ein taught us anything it's that TN can lazily import an old character with little marketability with ease. Tengu should not be different. They can keep their absurd fascination with breasts as longer as they also provide other substance. But now they're trying to replace what little non-tit appeals they have with more tits, cause apparently it's a crime not to want boobs slapped on literally everything.

So no, I won't "curb my expectations" or "accept that this is how the market works." This is how TEAM NINJA works. These are the low expectations we have for TEAM NINJA. This isn't the fault of the market or Team Ninja trying to please their fans. This is Team Ninja doing what Team Ninja wants to do because Team Nina wants it this way. That's it. I don't know an other developer that I have these kind of ridiculous expectations for. And they can do that, but I don't have to feign a smile for it.

Actually.. as much as I want tengu n feel ur pain. The reason this is happening is not TN.. its TK..

I peronally met with hayashi n shimbori this year, n believe me.. shinbori was pushing so hard for tengu... But given the stats of DOA4, he was the least popular character.. yes I know its because how how rediculous it was to unlock him and so does TN... But TK is a company at the end of the day and if u want TK and TN to stay on the map n produce more titles they need to make the money for it...

It hurts .. but its understandable

Ignoring that Ein is more popular then Tengu (this will lead to more bickering so not gonna elaborate more on this) Ein is different from Tengu because Tengu doesn't have an already playable alter ego persona (Hayate) with the same model and characters that covers a good portion of his movelist (Hitomi/Hayate). Tengu would require more work in comparison for his DoA5 incarnation since he doesn't have any recycled assets already present in the game. The issue is would a past boss character from three games ago be marketable enough for the amount of work involved?

Also TN "wants it this way" apparently because the majority fan demographic that supports this game (I.E buying copies, DLC costumes/Gravure Videos/ etc) is fine with how things are being handled. Sucks if your against this trend, but that is how it is.

Perhaps it would have been more accurate for me to say "TK" in place of "TN." But even so, this isn't something that TK "has to do to survive in the market" or "the only way they can make money." The fan disappointment is also entirely understandable.

Apparently the fanbase does even the west despite loud complaints from them. Which is why TN keeps pumping out the cosmetic DLC (primarily female ones) which is probably the most expensive amount of DLC for a fighter game to date

I think TN realised and held that costume contest you saw no bikini entries won :) if I am not wrong....This topic bores me you know they can make bikini game I always say this then it would be cool.

Put yourself in their shoes, for starters. believe it or not, it takes money to develop things, and these copy-pasta costumes are easy to modify for other characters. Before they can be adventurous, they need a larger profit margin. They need to worry about making new fans, not keeping old ones. The old ones will stay if the series is to survive. The game needs to gamble the fans they have and try to attract new people. We're lucky we're not picking up a dinosaur, a kangaroo, a panda, or something like that.

EDIT: Alot of people are assuming that there will be a DoA6. I'm saying that they're alot worse off than we like to think. This is basically what happened to Ace Combat, and it's all but dead at this point.

they have sucked the fans dry for TWO YEARS

topics like this have popped up multiple times
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/714549-dead-or-alive-5-ultimate/69316436

and on top of that they have still charged for DLC characters which are a generic loli, anouther kasumi clone, and they refuse to even take the chance to bring in Tengu without giving him a sex change anyway, hardly what i would call "adventurous"

so no im not going to accept that excuse anymore. after a certain amount of time you have to start earning your pay.

And you wonder why they don't stop. In business "enough" is never enough. No reason to stop "milking" a series if it can remain sustain good profitability I.E CoD, Pokemon, Persona, etc. Which is why we are seeing a steady rise of games with a FTP model because despite loud complaints about the "unethical" practice of micro-transactions, enough people still get tempted into buying loads of crap to keep the boat floating. All the complaining in the world won't mean jack if the practices are still being strongly supported. Sucks, but that is the reality.

Edit:

If you really hate how things are right now then you need to do something about it or just keep ranting on forum boards all day as a stress relief mechanism. I mean do something productive which means whining on FB/Twitter or making a useless petition with 200 signatures ain't gonna cut it. Specifically on what you have to do is up to you, but your gonna need big numbers backing you and become organized just for the small chance of actually be taken seriously.

Hmm, was hoping for a brand new character. No ninja, no character from previous DoA games. Why not a character from Switzerland? (Switzerland is well known for "Schwingen" => so there's a male character for those who wish for it).

And imo, Tengu doesn't look very interesting to me in DoA4.

I think what some of the complainers are failing to realize is that the populace of this and any other forum make up a very small majority of the actual players. I've been a member for a few years and rarely post for instance. The internet is a format for the digitally outspoken. It doesn't make them any more committed to the game than others and the outspoken rarely make up the majority

Doa5u Core Fighters has over 1 million downloads. You add in the the sales for the full version and you have a lot of people who have played and still play the game. I guarantee there aren't even close to a million members here. The developers and publishers see trends on a much larger scale than any forum can ever hope to provide. The majority don't speak their opinion online. They show it with the financial support the game has received, via sales and DLC, that has allowed TN to create a steady stream of new DLC, produce a Plus and Ultimate version and port the series back to arcades, where it hadn't seen a release in over 10 years.

Those are the facts that matter to TN and TK. It's not that your opinion or complaint doesn't hold value, but there's a much bigger picture, and blind anger without constructive criticism doesn't go far. I see people gripe about the cost of the DLC, but TN is cleaning up on it from the people who simply play the game and could care less about ever posting an opinion. TN ninja isn't killing their game, or taking advantage of their players. You can see where the money goes, as they are actively investing and participating to build what used to be a much smaller community prior to DOA5.
