I told you guys it was unrealistic. But as many of you said it doesn't diminish the possibility of him being DLC down the line or maybe even in DOA6.

Focus on the achievable. The stages requests seem reasonable.

For now, we need to just see the game and know whats actually in there.

I kinda got bad news guys...

Spoke directly to the main man Shimbori himself.

its a no go guys .. He just didn't make the cut due to little demand.

Sorry guys. :(

But that being said, do not stop supporting Tengu. If anything keep showing your support so that he can have better odds in future titles, be it DOA6, DOA5U+, or even DOAxVF .. :)

There is nothing that we can do for changing his mind? :(

Tengu was always the least likely to be brought back from the 3 cut characters, he was the least popular of the 3 and the least requested. Of the three he is officially dead while Ein is hidden somewhere in the recesses of Hayates memories and Leon is alive and well and vanished to train in the desert somewhere. both will likely return as part of the main storyline in DOA6 unlike Tengu who no longer has a place.

This also coincides with DOA5's more realistic tone and art style. A bio-engineered jello clone created by an advanced technological research corporation fits in line with the new setting and tone than some ancient demon who awakens to cause chaos. its straight up cartoony and unrealistic in comparison. You got 30 other characters to choose from i'm sure you guys can survive without Tengu

But for those who love Tengu, it won't be the same. Imagine if your character was permanently killed off and his style never replaced.

Sure you can pick up a new character, but there will be a void that can't be filled.

I'm not a huge Tengu fan but I can't understand why they can't just add him? I mean Super Smash Bros just got Wii Fit Trainer as a new fighter for ****ing sake and now Team Ninja is pulling a "well not enough people like him" argument. Tweak his unique move set, update his appearance, make fans like your character. Don't assume that just b/c thousands of people aren't threatening to commit suicide if he doesn't reappear means that they wouldn't appreciate having him in the game.

He. Doesn't. FIT.

He's a demon monster with weather controlling superpowers and flight. This is not tekken, where that would fit RIGHT in.

I feel for people who mained him, but I also most certainly understand why he wouldn't be coming back. one goofy Tekken monster is enough for DOA5 (Alpha)

No one fucking cares whether or not a character "fits". He didn't come back not due to his appearance, but simply due to an apparent lack of interest and time.

Agreed it's not the same and doesn't feel like an Ultimate version either. Plus Tengu style is VERY unique and fun to play and I don't understand why not enough voted for him from the start. I'd rather have him than Alpha 152 tbh.

Pretty weird to say he doesn't "fit in" when the game is totally fictional and with character who do beyond what humans are not capable of lol. Tengu fits in well and brings more diversity to the roster. Your thinking is a bit shallow there.

Boobs are what they think sell the game more NOT interesting characters, that might be why he didn't get in, he didn't have boobs and he was less requested just kidding, no one knows. We do know he wasn't a priority, but what about that photo leak? It's obviously Tengu.

This still makes me curious, I know they said no, but did they say NO to DLC characters this time around for DOA5U? this could be something they worked on, but decided to drop it.

I don't remember the exact quote but it was something along the lines of "If enough people want him we can see about possibly having him somewhere down the line" which like every other answer was very vague and not helpful at all.

I'm not sure what they said about DLC characters this time but with their F2P version (which allows you to purchase fighters as DLC), it's definitely more of a possibility this time around.

And also, if people care about the story, he is dead.

If people care about a manageable roster of characters, but still want new characters, its difficult to justify keeping every character in every iteration. You want DOA6 to have 40 characters? 50? How accessible will the game be then?

But a DoA game with all the characters previously appeared in the series is my (unrealizable) dream! :(

Well Ein doesn't really exist anymore either. And they already said there will be no updated story mode with the new characters in Ultimate so that point is trivial.

Also, unless TN has made an agreement with Sega to have them permanently included, there's a good chance that some/most/all of the VF characters won't be returning in 6 so you've already downsized the roster right off the bat. Accessibility is always important but they can easily justify including a fighter whose moveset is entirely different than any other character (which let's face it Ein and Leon are very similar to Hitomi and Bayman).
