Imho graphically a step above other open world games like The Witcher 3 and MGSV.

Here the full video of the TGS gameplay:

My sister was playing J stars Victory VS., and I found the art style and graphics very appealing for a PS3 game. Here is a screen shot showing my favorite character Killua.

What the hell? I'll add a few more:)

Thanks so much for this! It's super interesting and exactly what I was looking for. Imho Guilty Gear Xrd came the closest to a perfect anime look in 3D ever. The characters look perfect from every angle, with every lighting condition and with every movement they do. It can totally fool you, it's just a 2D anime. No other game or film (there are several CG animated anime) could fool me into believing something was a hand drawn anime so far. The only small gripe I have, why did it have to be cross gen? ;__; If it was developed for the PS4 exclusively, the characters could have been modeled even rounder and more detailed. Well, maybe for the next game in the series or the next Blaz Blue.

Atlus Japan put up an hour-long video of designer Shigenori Soejima drawing a new piece of promotional artwork for Persona 5.

I love videos like this. It's so mind-blowing to be able to watch a professional artist go from from rough concept doodle to finished piece. There's a couple techniques I picked up on here that I think I'm gonna have to try in my own art.

Atlus was also kind enough to release the finished piece as a wallpaper.

Moving this post to this thread, as it's more appropriate in here:

I doubt DOA6 will be a completely rebooted overhaul you think it will be, just look at the gap between DOA3(og xbox) and DOA4(360) or even NG:Black compared to NGII they were a minor upgrade despite the later sequels being built from the ground up on a newer gen console. i expect the same for DOA6 compared to LR. accept with higher texture resolutions, AA, and bigger more interactive environments slapped on.

Wait, you are talking about the games having the same art style. Yes, the art style stayed the same, but the games were still completely new and all graphical assets (character models, stages, textures...) were new. These character models superficially look the same, but they are still different character models, which take time and money to develop:

If you think, Team Ninja will get away with using the same character models as well as the same stages as DOA5 for DOA6, just with higher textures resolutions...lol. That is actually not how video game developing and marketing works...
Better graphics do sell games! I know, there are purists, annoyed with all graphical talk and dick measuring, but it is a fact, that good graphics sell games. It's what you can convey the easiest to the potential customer in trailers or with screens. Especially Team Ninja was always famous for upping their game regarding graphics and they will again.

At TGS we got a good glimpse, of how DOA6 characters will probably look like with NIOH's protagonist, William:

bradman-jpg.13648

It's the same art style as DOA5 and he looks like Bayman wearing Brad's wig, but this character model features at least double, probably even triple (if we are talking about male characters) the polygons, animation bones, texture quality and shaders of DOA5 models. Again, a model like this is very expensive and time consuming. You won't see 35 of these in DOA6 at release.

They probably won't stop here either. Games always look miles better post release than when they're first displayed. For DOA, I hope they still continue to keep the art style they have now, because it makes it easy to identify the game and show it's own unique graphics style.

Speaking of anime-style...(thanks for the awesome vid @WisperG! :D)...I find Star Ocean 5's in-game execution of said style rather terrible. D:

Everything looks so carelessly cobbled together and jarring... :/ A shame, as I really love these kinds of old school JRPGs.
Here's the newest trailer from Tokyo Gameshow:

The 2D game designs look really nice though:

Technically (artistically too of course) they still hold up to any other current console generation fighter. I can't even imagine how good SC6 stages might look like...

The game is really beautiful...it's the only reason why I stop playing SC4 and still play it. The skin textures wet also amazing, and the hair physics vastly improved along with all the cloth textures and movement. The characters emotions (not the custom characters, who didn't change emotion other than smiling) were also really well done and vivid.

HHD takes the creative aspects of New Leaf and greatly expands upon them while removing everything else. If you're not super into the creative side of AC I think it'd get boring quickly but nonetheless it's a fun cute game
So alternatively, what you're saying is if designing things was my favorite part of AC, and I really hated all of the real-time management that the other games required, I should totally get this?

I guess so. This game was pretty much made for the people that love designing and implemented a lot of fan ideas I've seen since New Leaf's release and then some.

They also made the custom design system infinitely better since you can rotate them after placing them on the ground (no more needing 12+ designs for one path!) and you can hold 120 of them at once rather than 10 per character (no more needing to exit and switch characters to do more path work!). I also heard all New Leaf QR's work in HHD but haven't tested any yet.

I found this house I really liked online and unfortunately the game doesn't let you take pics of other people's houses so I had to use my phone :/

Edit- found a workaround

WVW69icIWQ0YqgoKvT

^this is originally a blank lot with just grass, very creative use of the space and great custom designs.

WVW69icIW30w7oplgi

^restaurant within the house

WVW69icIZPoOghg6_y

^beachside restaurant made by the same person, this started out just a room with wood walls and a wood floor.

And to show the game isn't all cute here's some screenshots from an abandoned hospital themed house (made by another person)

WVW69icIa_gqwPUnHG

WVW69icIbfcObn80K2

^the walls are a custom design, there's no blood splatter wallpaper within the game lol

Wow those look really cool. I'am amazed at how creative some people are when it comes to Animal Crossing games and I struggle to make my town look even half decent.

The new PNG photo mode for PS4 again ignited the game photo craze in me. XD Taking some new photos, I again noticed how gorgeous FFXV Episode Duscae looks, even as a not yet fully optimized demo. The global illumination, the character models as well as their animations are the best, that we have seen in a video game so far:

Now they just have to get the image quality right...at least 1080p for the PS4. :/
