The FIRST game was a standard GTA clone.

The second third and fourth completely blow GTA out of the water in every department except graphics so you'll probably hate them XD.

The second one adds in trademark humor and some crazy stuff like missions to drive around in septic trucks spewing poo at everything and flurries and you can pile drive grannies on the streets or hijack bikers by drop kicking the drivers off and you can surf and handstand on moving vehicles (including planes!) And drive bikes up the sides of walls and there's a zombie mini game and its generally hilarious.

The THIRD game cranks up the humor to cartoon levels while putting the awesome into overdrive. Like one mission is to hijack an enemy cargo plane. You arrive in your own plane and dive out without a parachute onto the roof of the other plane, climb in shoot your way through guards until you find a sonic blaster gun that makes people explode and fight to the tanks in the hangar eventually blowing up the entire plane then climb into a tank as they fall and have a tank battle in free fall. Also falling are bio weapon gas canisters which hit the ground first so when you land you clmb out of the tank, look around to see zombies, you character says "fuck my life!" And gets back into the tank.
Some of the zombies are hilarious too like one will Chase you carrying a big gulp from a gas station and will stop chasing you to take a big drink from it before running after you again XD.

The fourth game is less GTA more Crackdown and opens with a parody of the movie Armageddon as you ride a missile while aerosmith plays and fall and land in the white house as you are now the president with Keith David as your vice president and then aliens attack complete with you in a turret as the enemies move in Space Invaders formation. Then you escape the Pleasant ville Matrix as Somewhere Love Will Find You by Journey plays and you drive a car as a tiger paws at you while you're all wtf why a tiger.

And then there's Mr Genki.


I could go on. Saints Row is goddamn glorious.

YESSS! Argentus, I knew deep down you'd come through! And yes, Professor Genki is the bomb, he's probably a SR character I wouldn't mind seeing in DOA. He's my inspiration that encourages me to go on occasional killing sprees, mainly for that one saying he always says...what was it?

It certainly does look amazing. Definitely the best 3dimensional realization of an anime art style that we've seen so far. It looks even better than all of the rendered cg anime series that I have seen so far. Unfortunately the game doesn't seem to target a casual fighting game audience or I would have long bought it. (Since Street Fighter 5 I'm wary...)

By the way, have you guys seen the first Atelier Firis screens?

The 2D art and the 3D in-game art is hardly distinguishable:

Yes, I am sure. That's what the developers explicitely stated, when they released the screenshots a while ago.

Only the lack of anisotropic filtering (the smudging) on the ground reveals it is indeed in-game graphics. XD

Omg they are absolutely gorgeous! I've wanted to see a character model that looks just beautiful as the artwork and this game has it. I follow koeitecmo Europe on twitter and right now they're posting lots about a game in that series called Atelier Sophie. I actually managed today to win a PS4 theme from the game from their twitter!

And these place is completely optional, so you might not even discover it playing through the game.

It'll surely be awhile before it finally sees the light of day, but it isn't cancelled. All of their social media is still active and they just signed-on with GameStop's new publishing arm a few months back.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot. XSeed recently announced that they were handling the physical release of the new Shantae. Which is cool and all, but more importantly, last month, Wayforward put out a new update showing off the artwork for the portraits and other promotional stuff, as all the art up until then used the in-game designs. Just for comparison's sake...

Mother of God is Injustice ugly again. D:

The art style is just so...ugly. Human characters look really unappealing. Supergirl has the face of a toad (the lighting doesn't help much with that), Aquaman looks doughy and bloated, Superman's as well as Batman's suits are the worst designed that I ever saw them in. I don't know what NeatherRealm is doing there. :/

And this is a badass yet appealing looking armored suit:

I really wished NR would take a look at other studios...or if it doesn't help sack those character designers. :/

They're so bland they must be the work of who ever did the designs for Mortal Kombat X, This and that game have like no flair or interest in their outfits what so ever. I don't think it's ugly but it does just feel dull.

On a scale from beautiful over dull to ugly the style is imho way beyond dull and nearer to ugly. With every one of the human characters I thought: "Ugh...what is wrong with their faces? Well, maybe put a sack over their head...? No, no, the costumes are even worse. D:"
