Agreed, but likely in a different way. I think that Alpha is on top overall, but I find my bf's Kasumi very annoying fighting against Alpha. She matches Alpha's speed, can't be juggled as long, has damaging counters, useful advantage, better teleport game and wake-ups.
In all honesty, I think players got the shaft when Team Ninja said Phase 4 is a technical character. I still feel that the VF guest fighters are more technical than Phase 4. Once I got the timing down for Phase 4, she became easier to control.
Kasumi beats Alpha's speed. Honestly, I don't really even see it as comparable. Kasumi is the far more effective character, and is the "best" of the three.

No one was expecting Phase 4 to be technical, they were expecting Kasumi-like timing and that's what we got.
Also Alpha is not the best Kasumi, Kasumi is. Jussayin'.
Okay, with speed I guess I can agree, though they both have a 9 frame jab. As far as being the best... that's debatable in some cases. How well do you know the Alpha matchup?
Actually a lot of people were expecting Phase 4 to be technical from the second her frame data was released, and as soon as people knew specifics about her teleport cancels.

You mean against Kasumi, against Phase, against the roster in general, or against a different character?
I disagree. Even Team Ninja themselves said that Phase 4 was an advanced level and technical character. All they did was make her strikes weak, made her slower, and made her neutral game ass.
Against the roster in general, because I certainly agree for the most part with your Alpha vs. Kasumi case.
But Alpha does have some extremely damaging tools that Kasumi doesn't have at all.

Pretty well.
Not amazing because I honestly just don't fight top-level Alphas offline much due to how rare they are, but I do feel I have a very good feel now on how she stacks up to most of the roster.
Unlike most, I do know what her tools are and how they are applied.
The biggest problem I have with Kasumi dominating other characters is the timing... that's one thing Alpha or her players don't have to worry about. Her damage output is also far superior to Kasumi's. Also those three critical bursts are nice. Almost better than guaranteed damage. Also Alpha's B.U.R.S.T can offer some easy rounds. To top it off, Alpha has an 8 frame 7K from BT that does godly damage with godly knockback.
Alpha is also a long distance masterpiece R.U.S.H and B.R.E.A.K (8T). I've never seen better offensive holds in DOA history.
