Ok.. lets put it this way...
The arcade site having new stage(s) and new character(s) was NOT a mistake...
The arcade is very young (litrerally a month old) and is generating alot of interest day by day. People are playing it for different reasons:
- doa players are leveling up with the more updated version.
- vf players are increasing daily cuz theyre hungry for a new game (and there wont be a vf6)
- a ton of casuals are entering the scene just to unlock costumes.. dude that puzzle setup is addictive.. the better u get at the games and the more u win the more pieces u get.. and if u lose u get a piece anyway sometimes so its genius!
-sega and TN are organizing arcade get together almost biweekly since release.. that kind of support doesnt come cheap and they seem to be very successful.
If throwing swimsuits will support the overall performance of the game.. then throw in a venus on marie rose .. I dont care.. this is the first time in years where the game felt more alive than dead.

Please don't give anyone suggestions. lol That's a pretty sensitive topic still. But now that I know there is a new character and stage I can't wait!

The big deal is we could be getting real dlc. Dlc outfits for the dudes too.For 5 it was ridiculous but they've been pretty good with 5U and dlc quality so frankly now that I think about it I don't care if the next set is swimsuits as long as everyone gets them.
Calling the non-bikini DLC "real" is a little arrogant.
Like myself, I suspect there are many players who consider the bikini/skimpy stuff to be the more desirable DLC. The skimpier outfits set a precedent for me. If other outfits dont match or exceed that skimpy precedent, I will ignore them.
If you showed the average guy on the street a picture of a hot girl in Kasumis pink thong swimsuit and then a picture of a hot girl in her casual dress and biker jacket, Im pretty sure the vast majority, if they were honest, would prefer the swimsuit look (though undoubtedly everyone in here will say the biker jacket is sexier etc).
I dont think skimpy outfits for the guys will ever really happen for two reasons. The first one is that it wont sell well (the low cost of the guys MMA/swimsuits makes me think they have a very low demand). Secondly, too many players are immature and maybe, somewhat homophobic, when it comes to seeing guys in skimpy outfits.
Without the "manly" MMA angle, Im not sure if TN would ever have been prepared to release anything remotely skimpy for the guys.

Hm. The "ignore" setting in this forum is super strong. In other forums I've been to, it usually just collapses the message into a warning that you can click to show, and any quotation of said text remains in plain sight. Here everything just.. vanishes without a trace.

Like I said in my earlier posts, this game may be geared towards one specific target audience but it is also catering to other audiences too:
- People who simply mains/uses a male character and simply wants costumes for them
- People who wants male fanservice regardless of our main's gender (gamer girls and gaymers - that's right we exist)
Jann Lee's was the skimpiest of the pack so anything CAN happen. Regardless of sales figures, I see that it was made as a way to reach out DOA5 to other fans/gamers who prefers the tables turned in terms of fanservice and hope for TN to carry on and give them more.
Cut us some slack seriously. TN has been very generous to you guys 5.5-6 swimsuit packs + 3 on-disc swimsuits while the guys only have 1 in the disguise of an MMA outfit yet you have the nerve to not be satisfied when we have more of a reason.

Im not opposed to skimpy male costumes and I agree, girls and gay guys may be hard done by, when it comes to fan service, but thats to be expected with TN chasing the dollar, as any business would do.
As far as me having "the nerve to not be satisfied", that genuinely made me laugh. I guess Im a selfish glutton for skimpy outfits. I want more and will buy whatever TN are prepared to give me

1) On skimpy outfits.
I wish they'd just be for characters they actually FIT. Wanna give em to Lisa, Christie or Tina? Fine, whore em up, it suits those characters just fine.
But shoulda kept em off the likes of Helena and Mila, for example. (I'm actually very happy that the only "skimpy" outfits for Mila are from the beginning DLC where they were just lazy and copypasting Ayane's bikini to her.).
Marie Rose is created specifically to be fetish fuel for a specific (re: japanese) demographic. So *shudder* feel free to whore her up too, I guess.

I'm having trouble deciding who should be my "main" now. Leon or Mila. I love em both, but I'll admit I'd been neglecting Mila and I kinda wanna go back to her. Leon was my main since 3, when I started playing, but I really did take a liking to Mila during 5 Vanilla. Now I find myself so rusty with her after maining Leon since 5u launched that trying to go back to her...i always used the mount tackle a lot, but I was able to switch playstyles from "only mixups and strings" to "focusing on tackle" to anywhere in between. can't do that anymore. But I dunno.
Mila is much easier to win with, but I'm better with Leon, if that makes any sense. But I love both of them (for largely the same reasons). Who do you think I should "Main" for a while? GO back to Mila for a while, or stick with Leon?

I'll be honest that I'm already satisfied that Helena got her Mermaid Form (seashell bikini) and couldn't wish for her to have any other swimsuit NOT because I want something skimpy for her but because I do remember her being one of the adult girls along with Tina, Lisa and Christie of the game during the pre-DOA5 era (so it didn't made sense why she didn't received an on-disc swimsuit in Vanilla 5).
On a personal note, it fulfills my fairytale dreams for her to look more like a Mermaid Goddess ala Disney Princess, thus making my little boy-maiden's heart happy lol (I think out of all the girls, Helena has the strongest gay fanbase).
