I dunno. Maybe a clumsy version of someone's fighting style just like Miharu and Slim Bob in TTT2.

Well Miharu and Slim Bob are essentially exact clones of their counterparts but I like that idea of a clumsy fighting style.

Ex: His takedown consists of him tripping and pulling the opponent to the ground. They'd have to be careful not to overlap w/ Brad since his drunken style is pretty clumsy but if they could pul it off it would be pretty entertaining. XD

Categorizing him as either grappler or striker is another thing but I like to see a superheavy striker for a change.

I can imagine him doing Ein's 7K but breaks his fall by landing on the ground sitting after execution.

A nerdy, superheavy weight striker who is extremely clumsy. I want to see this happen now. lol

The art of tripping is a fine one indeed.

I dont know why you say that when u can customize dicks in sc5 and downright strip the cast to nothing but undies or bondage gear in both sc5 and tekken..

Hell I went all the way and made a KKK Patroklos because all the cursed in his story were black and there was not a single black character in the game, which i found both hilarious and racist.... I was so mad cuz zasalamel was my main.

What ur saying makes no sense.. a costume is a costume.. it wont change the core game.. and the videos, well theys not even accessible except under extra and indirectly... Or u forget the anna and nina endings? Its called fan service.. nothing wrong with it and doesnt truly hurt the credibility of the game.

What hurts it is ignorant sites like eventhubs.. who refuse to talk about the thechnical side of the game or post any combo vids. They only post the bikini packs... Hell they didnt even post the change logs...
THAT.. hurts the game..
SRK (thanks to D3V) is doing a far better job at keeping the balance between technicality and fan service and we need more sites like that.
While ignorance and lack of posting the entire picture is bad, you're leaving something out. Official marketing and presentation.

Look at the category images and 3/4ths of the videos that the company themselves post. Look at the in-game ticker. "Sexy" this. "Sexy" that. Over and over. They're putting that at the forefront. Now go to Tekken's and SC's websites and look at their media pages. That SC5 Ivy magazine ad aside, Tekken and SC don't really play up the sexy all that often. Random person off the street has no idea that Anna's endings in a couple games were about lulz fanservice. They wouldn't unless they bought the game and played that character. But TTT1, T6 and TTT2 Anna endings didn't even have that.

And Tekken and SC certainly don't have dedicated "paradise" modes. TN is constantly advertising the sexy. That's where the image problem comes from. There are a lot of fanservicey aspects in Tekken and even more so in SC, but that doesn't seem to be most of what they tell people about, if they even make it obvious to the public at all. It wasn't even that bad when DOA5 was first released. But, now...

I think TN could've had their cake and eaten it, too if they had whatever they wanted in the game, but the sexy wasn't 70% of their recent marketing campaign. I think there's a way to have sexiness without making it seem like the point of the game. People can barely find out about the core game without wading through a bunch a swimsuits. I think that's the only thing some people have a problem with.

But, as was mentioned, the fanbase wanted it...so here we are.

I think you guys are asking TN to take a big risk, by toning down the sexiness (yes, I say that with a pro-T&A bias).
Ive always thought people would be more likely to be put off by what they PERCEIVE as being a shallow fighting system, rather than T&A.
I have always wanted to see DoA implement more opportunities for players to refine/showoff their technical skill. By this, I mean their accuracy with the joystick and button timing (not mind games). I'd like to see things like just-frames, tough links and maybe a few more guaranteed ground combos. Basically, things that Street Fighter and Tekken have had for a long time, because I think these game mechanics really help attract and maintain a player base.

I don't really think skinhead bryan and dickgirl purple chan from SCV - characters made by players using a character creation and editing tool - are necessarily reflective of the developers of the game or their thought process.

Yes, there is Ivy and there are bikinis, but accusing people of hypocrisy or trying to shove this topic aside doesn't help this topic. It doesn't help guys like me promote a game where a character like Lisa has three string bikinis and something out of some weird catalog.

If someone decides to choose random costume on a character and suddenly the string jewlery whatever-you-call-it shows up, people are gonna be weirded out by that and I'm not trying to make things up to help my argument here; this is from my observations. I find the "everyone's a hypocrite because they do it too" argument, whether true or not, is not very healthy and it's rather petty. I'm not saying you're a petty guy or anyone else in the community is (okay, a select few of you which I will not name), but these sort of attempts don't really get anyone anywhere.

My primary job is to interest people so they'd start playing the game start paying front door and/or tourney entry fee, have a fun time and keep coming back. New players are needed and always welcome, but when I turn the game on and I get comments like "all I see is [this]" "why did they do [this]" and I can't answer that because I don't want to be hostile, so I try to be cool with it, but even if people think you're cool, they'll still recognize the game as a separate entity.

Let me make this clear; I'm not the best player out there, but I can put up a good show and hold my ground and teach people as much as I know. I also really like some of the costumes and actually got all the costumes for the female characters I play like Lisa, Tina and Rachel. I like girls. I like TNA.

I don't like it when it's overdone.

I'll leave this topic alone for now, because I think I've spent enough time on it.

I think it's just a lack of vocabulary. "Sexy" is a very subjective term, somthing that is sexy to one my not have the same effect on others (I certainly don't find some of those costumes sexy at all). They're trying to hard with the whole "Sex Sells" thing it's getting annoying imo because each pack become more and more explicit. I'm sure there are other ways to make money.

There is. legacy costumes, people went out of their way to buy the first set if they did more classics they'd be drenched in all the Yen they wanted.

Think of how many people constantly ask for Ayane's DOA3 C1 or Christie's Trenchcoat?
And the 10000000 requests for Hayabusa's throwback? (which thankfully made it in ^^)

Sure the bikini's sell alot, but that's mostly because more than half of the original sets so far are out of character or are swaps/re-colours.

If TN released alot more classic costumes they'd sell just as quick.

yeah but there are only so many highly requested costumes and I have a feeling TN will find a way to have underboob on Christie's Trenchcoat..

I think any classic costumes would sell alot not just for highly requested ones, after all everyone wants one costume where another wants something else.

LOL maybe, I think Awesmic wouldn't care as long as his costume is in.

You know, I really hope Team Ninja never localizes another DOA game. No matter what they release,(balance updates or costumes) all I ever see complaint, after complaint, after complaint. No ever seems happy with anything.

The costume DLC is optional. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Simple. How can anyone have the audacity to say "Remove the fan service stuff Team Ninja, because we the hardcore crowd, (which is only a small fraction of your overall fan base and sales figures), want to be accepted by a group of pompous, immature jerk-offs known as the FGC. So screw everyone else!"

It's like we have some sort abused wife syndrome. If the FGC doesn't want us, why the hell should we even bother?

Us folks in the west don't deserve this awesome game. We're way too uptight and self conscience about everything. I'm probably gonna to get the hell flamed out of me or banned, but whatever........

No one's really asking to remove fan service stuff. They would just prefer TN work on some non-jerkoff material related stuff in the future before continuing with the pure fanservice stuff, given that there's a surplus of it available already.

It's not that simple.

Well, you're certainly not going to get accolades.

I would care...
It was more of a harmless joke, I don't see how TN could add under boob to a full trenchcoat anyway.

Not unless the trenchy is open and Christie is wearing some croptop or something.... I really hope TN don't get any ideas.

Plus, Tina's DOA1 C2 and other classics didn't get under boob. Only Ayane's famitsu, Lei's 2U costume and Tina's DOA2 C6 got underboobs.

At most, I could probably see TN do this if they want to butcher her trench coat to get that underboob effect. :/
