The Volleyball Spinoff games already did the credibility damage years ago.

Which always confused me. Tekken and soul calibur are are far worse offenders when it comes to sex appeal.

I think what d3v is trying to say is that there's a time and place for everything. If you want to make a video showing off the ladies' candystores in seashell bikinis with OMG mode then great go right on ahead. But if you're trying to help newcomers with a character tutorial or show off a really intense and enjoyable match just maybe be cognizant of the fact that having OMG mode on or fighting in a thong bikini may actually be detrimental and takes away from your hard work.

Secondly, in Sc4, ivy alone shows more skin than that, while having a curvier body and being blatantly sexual, with taki being nude with what amounts to red bodypaint, with visible nipples and cameltoe. Doa ain't got shit on other.fighters. its tame in comparison.

Well, DoA was the front runner, when it came to sexualisation in video games. And I always thought, they did a very good job with that and it was done classy. Which changed with DoA Xtreme 2. That game was Xtremely dumb and Xtremely slutty at the same time. The girls pole dancing in basicly tooth floss, really?!
Soul Calibur soon jumped on the bandwagon and it too did it really well (did you know that Astaroth's man boobs jiggled in the original Soul Calibur game? XD) and it was still classy. But with Soul Calibur 4 it surpassed even DoA Xtreme in gratuitous sexualisation. Ivy, what did they do to her?! She reminded me of rolled roast, the extremely jiggly, fat kind... In Soul Calibur 5 they fortunately toned down everything and they equally made the guys to sex objects. I think, they should get an award for that! The Nobel Peace Price! XDDD I think, that is the way to go. The right amount of sexy and that equally distributed.

I think what it boils down to is how subtle you are about it. 70% of your marketing campaign should not be "Look at the sexy, sexy women." Soulcalibur (minus those SCV Ivy ads) typically never said all that much about it. You could ogle if you wanted, but that never seemed like the point. Even less so with Tekken. DOA has always often gone "out of its way" to make the sexy women the point of everything when there's still a fun fighting game underneath.

Honestly DOAX2 was a fun game. I played alot of waverace 64 as a kid and it was nice to have it in HD with hot girls and the difficulty really got up there as you progressed in the game. And the pole dance sequence was a hidden feature in the game that you really really really had to go out of your way to get and unlock so its not like it was all in your face about it, it was there if you wanted it. Just like the endless tits and ass in that game was basically only there if you wanted it as well. Tina could wear a Tshirt and granny panty bikini bottoms and tennis shoes SO MUCH easier than she could wear electra or mirfac. If you wanted Tits and ass all over then that was your choice, the game just gave you options but it never forced it down your throat.
Also historically for basically all of human history, women have always been the objects of visual sexual attention far more so than men. For men the sexual selling point (to women in general) is typically status based (think marilyn monroe + JFK) and what do we have in DOA... the greatest wrestler of all time, a ripped rich kid (rig), the greatest most manly pro killer of all time Hayabusa, the leader of a clan hayate, a professional race car driver, a dude who owned his own island, and brad and eliot pick up on the physical side, and jann is based on the most famous rich movie star martial artist of all time. So doa does just as much for men albeit via a parallel facet of sexual objectification.

On another note: The newest TN Twitter pic confirms, that the bottommost floor is included in the Lorelei remake. You can clearly make out the rain gutter, running through that floor. Some where worried, it might have been left out.
