So let's work on being more positive (including me) and getting more people involved in wanting him back b/c honestly we're coming across as constant whiners which pushes people away even more:

The requests have been piling up on TN's Twitter long enough for them to say something. It's not like their Twitter is soooo clogged that they just run right past it without seeing it. But they'll respond and re-tweet when I say Merry Christmas.

Wait- so it's legitimately official she's paid DLC? will she cost more for those using core fighters? or is she just paid DLC for core fighters? like every other character. I wonder how this will turn out.

Ah, I see. Well, we have to wait and see who the 2nd new character is before jumping to conclusions. As for Marie Rose being paid DLC, I read the article and nowhere did it indicate that she was going to be paid DLC. As far as Core Fighters go, that makes sense as all the other characters are paid DLC, but for those with the full game, it's highly unlikely.

Actually I read it on this article: http://www.4gamer.net/games/224/G022452/20140215007/, and the good twitter user Ahmed (that I really thanks for all the times that I request him translations and he is so kind to do them for me), confirmed to me that this is said in this part of the text:

A little shame, but in the end if Marie Rose will cost just like the core fighters charas (so 4,99$) seems to me a right price for an effective fundamental content to a fighting game, surely in proportion more worthy of 20+$ for the gravure movies

I can help with what this says for anybody who wants to know.

"First off, there's the announcement of Marie Rose, who is coming in March of this year to the consumer version of DOA5U as paid DLC.
"Then, to the arcade version, also in March, another new character was announced to the public. Details are scarce, but according to Hayashi, if you know something about DOA5U, then you've surely seen this character. Hayashi also said that more updates will come for sure. And as a final comment, DOA5U is going to definitely be a game that fans should keep their eyes on this year."

I'm kind of angry about this, actually. I get that plans change. But, if they say something akin to "paid DLC characters and paid stages kind of aren't fair and screw up the power balance" and such (I don't remember the exact quote from E3), how the hell are they going to turn around and charge money for the character? They're kind of decidedly making this a have/have not situation. This isn't new to fighting games, but it still bothers me that they made the original statement at all. Because for some people, like tourney goers, not buying her kind of isn't an option...

It doesn't mention anything about being paid just for Core Fighters. Only that she is paid. "有料"

Now that I see the actual statement, my previous post seems like it needs to be retracted. But maybe that's why TN is charging for her now? I mean, if you want to stay viable, you have to learn match ups for all the characters. And plus, those who have Core Fighters or even the disc version will most likely want to try out a totally brand new character. But we forget that the gaming industry is a business and they need to make business decisions, even if it seems like it hurts the fans in the long run.

@Kronin quoted out something from 4gamer and it stated that she will be paid DLC. Not sure about her being at CF yet but she's probably going to cost like the CF characters as well.

Hm, so the woman behind the cloak eh? I wonder what surprises TN has in store for us. If it is indeed Kasumi Alpha, then they'll definitely have to do A LOT of work to make her different from regular Kasumi and Alpha-152.

I doubt she can be played like as if she had her DOA2/Dimensions moveset in 5/5U's system but I don't expect much. She'll most likely have the same Power Blow/Launcher as Kasumi or Alpha-152 has unless she's the P4A152 version of the regular Alpha-152 (the final boss who can mimic all 4 ninjas).

But, if they keep hurting their fans, then it may not end up being good for business in the long run. Someone said this in a GameFaqs post and I think it sounds pretty applicable.

Dunno, even from the pure greed standpoint, I think the smart choice would be giving the character away to 5U owners. It creates demand for their real product (DLC), especially since we can pretty much assume her packaged outfit selection will be thin enough to make people really want to even up the available outfits some, which will probably only come through buying additional DLC.

If they charge for the character, they limit the market for accessory DLC, limit interest in the character (while forcing people to download her anyway), and generate a huge amount of negativity. I think more money comes on the free character side.

A lot of people already aren't happy about the overpriced gravure movies and overpriced DLC in general. I don't think this is going to help.

Honestly at this rate, I'd rather it be the koko mom over an alpha clone.
Give her a JP martial art like judo or something.

But the trasforming ninja will be crazy in a sense that u need to have a grasp of all 4 main ninjas.. unless the transformations are forced, then only a little knowledge i guess.
It would be worse if it were random.
Watch the character get buggy n laggy online (especially in mirror matches) .. thats loading 4 times the data...

It's kinda lame that they stuck a black version of Christie's C2 on her. Rachel's C2 may have looked more dignified on her but eh... I'm not entirely crazy about Miyako in general.
