phase 4 is a mouthful in all aspects both her name and fighting style .

People Marie Rose is NOT free, AirGear clarified the thing on DOAworld:
I'll summarise:
From the Famitsu article, the new character’s full name is “Kasumi α Phase-4”. Release date to Arcade is stated as Spring 2014. Voice actress is Houko Kuwashima.
Fighting style is mentioned as “Mugen Tenshin Ninjutsu Tenjinmon”, modified with “human-style secret mobile weapon”.
Version 1.05 update is required to download Marie Rose DLCs. The release date for the update is 25th March for PS3 and 26th for Xbox 360.
** NOTE: The article only stated version 1.05 update is free, NOT that Marie Rose is a free update. **
From the video, there will be 3 (paid) DLCs:
1) Marie Rose character itself.
2) Marie Rose Debut Costumes Set which includes Nurse, Cheerleader, Santa Claus, School Uniform and Gym costumes.
3) Marie Rose character + Debut Costumes Complete Set.
No price has been given for these DLCs.
(So Marie Rose will have a total of 9 costumes.)
Core Fighters has exceeded 1 million downloads. As a memorial event, Team NINJA is making Jann Lee as a free download for 3 weeks, starting from 11th March 2014.
Oh ok, I thought so. Seemed a bit strange. The end of the trailer made it look like you paid for her, you could pay for the costumes, or both in a bundle pack thing... I'm finally right about something! >_>;;

Houko Kuwashima?! They should have gotten Sakura Tange to voice Phase 4 so there was atleast SOME differentiation.

I had the same doubts seeing the end of the trailer, more the previous interview of Hayashi talked about her being a paid DLC (by the way seems implied that Lorelei will end to be included freely in the 1.05 patch just like happened for the previous added stages)

Yes it should be something different Marie likes watching horror movies so maybe this kind of place fits her
Actually Haunted Lorelei is perfect for her but it isn't a new stage so boring as hell.

"Phase 4" (even if actually from the translation seems to me that she is the prototype of the real phase 4, that instead should be the clones similar to the DoA5 Boss) will be also a clone of Kasumi, but that cape make the looking of the character really cool in my opinion.
Her design seems to be surely inspired to the Alchemist Force from Ninja Gaiden 3:
It's still not sure if she will use the mix of ninja showned by the DoA5 boss: in that case I would have prefered that she could use a different fighting set, not because I dislike similar character like Charade from SC, but very simply because Doa had already the iconic Raidou. By the way in the first case I will be pretty curious to see what a mix of Kasumi, Ayane, Hayate and Ryu can do.
Overall I really like the feeling of tragic character behind it, the classic clichè of the human weapon with human feelings but forced to fight on the battlefield. More, the fact that she could be just a prototype (and so something considered not so precious from her same developers) could give to her a more interesting personality and plot development (but of course for this we will have to wait fro DoA6).
The new outfits of Marie Rose are perfect for her (especially what seem to be her halloween one), even if like I said I didn't find necessary the cheerleader (by the way it's nice that it will end to be unique with the additions of the pon pon).

on winposes. while i would love Mila or Leon to have bryans beatdown winpose, I agree it is out of character for them, same with Leon doing a neck lift. UNLESS. they give characters a "close call" winpose that only comes up when the characters health was really low. then Mila and Leon could get the beatdown and necklift respectively, because they won due to a last second adrenaline rush. oh. t hough Leon should be lifting the opponents face, not neck.
So I was right about her not being for free? Okie dokie.

Two things that would make me enjoy "Kasumi α Phase-4" as a staple character in the cast :
- If she has a tag team with Rig. They would be known as the "dark cloacked silhouettes"
- If team "Rig/Phase 4" and "Lisa/Ein" had a big rivarly, both controling their "pets"
> intro : both walk towards the camera and then Rig yells : "attack, dog!"
> outro : "good girl, here is a little treat!" ... "waaaf waaaaf"

@Yurlungur Judging from what said Airgear, seems that what will be free is the 1,05 patch and not Marie Rose, from here the misunderstanding. By the way maybe we should wait for official announcements, but it's more likely that she will be a paid character. In the end the work behind a similar addition for console it's far from being small, the trailer wanted just make notice it.
