The emphasis on Marie Rose's first name should have been applied on the "Ma". It would have sounded better.

Whatever drugs you're on, I want some. Honestly, the voice isn't THAT bad. I'm tempted to drop "Plumbers Don't Wear Ties"'s voice acting for you. XD!!

idk Leifang's English VA is apparently the worst thing to ever happen in the history of gaming according to some people on here and I actually like it so I must have a pretty high tolerance. This Marie Rose voice, it sounds kind of like an amateur's first gig.
I'm not sure what they were thinking when they came up with "Marie Rose." Sounds like a stripper name from the 1920's, or a Judi Dench character, and she's like a 13 year old masquerading as an adult.
I get it now. Shirley Temple died last month and she is reborn like a Phoenix from the ashes for console players!

People, don't take it like an evidence because itsn't, by the way judging from the updated list of characters in the DoA5U and DoA5UA site, it's potentially possible that we could end to get 3 characters more after Phase-4 and Marie Rose:
If this was right would be a great news! I would like many TN's old characters to get their place in DoA5U, but actually my only request is to get back Tengu and then I will be satisfied with anything Team Ninja will give us (included an additional guest from VF if this was to be the case, even if I would prefer only character from the DoA universe and fated to remain in the roster)

I'm always at work when news and stuff breaks so I'm always late to the party...

I don't think there's anything wrong with the way MR's actor is saying the lines. It's just that her voice doesn't really fit all that well. But, also keep in mind that the mind has a bias when it comes to the first thing you hear. In this case, everyone already has MR's Japanese voice set in as the default in their head. JPN is very childish and cute-standard. ENG is probably what she'd sound like if MR was a character not grounded in animu stereotypes...
I actually don't mind Phase-4 provided she's noticeably different from Kasumi. I'd also take a Raidou-style amalgam. I'm also excited for the prospect of new characters. I kind of want Irene to be on the short list (it just feels like should be actually involved at this point) as opposed to throwing in Yaiba or Monday. And I would hope that TN would actually acknowledge the Tengu love either by bringing him back or bringing in a spiritual successor.

I have nothing more to add to this question, these are exactly my same thoughts.
Again I agree: until Phase-4 playing is far different from Kasumi or any characters that we get, I'm glad with her moveset; more I really like what I've seen so far from Yaiba and Monday (damn, would be nice to tag her with Lisa! XD), but surely Tengu and after him Irene - and Genra even if the chances for him are really abysmal - have definitely the top priority for my personal tastes.
By the way I have to say that seems hard to me to replace Tengu with another character, because contrarily to a mimic one, he has a "heavy" figthing style involving too much uniqueness with his characteristic (first of all his use of the wings, but then also other things like for example his jumps on the "geta").
Honestly I couldn't see his moveset given to another character that isn't from the Tengu race, and at this point why to not bring back the original Bankotsubo?

Marie Rose's original (speaking) voice isn't even that stereotypically cute or childish or high pitched. She has a very soft, warm voice, that transports emotion very well. In the second part of her Japanese self-introduction, saying: "Bigger isn't always better!", she sounds really annoyed and sulky. You totally get, that this is one of her great insecurities. In the English version...nothing.The woman is just reading the lines without any kind of special accentuation or intonation. Wait, that's not right, she actually is accentuating one or the other thing and makes pauses...but at the wrong places, so it sounds forced. And its not just that the English version sounds flat and forced, it also sounds like a grown women, trying too hard to sound like a cute, little girl. Saying: "Bigger isn't always better!", she sounds like some really bad porn actress in a skimpy school uniform to me. I can see it in my mind's eye. *shudders* x___X

Am I the only one who finds her english voice acting very successfull? I mean it isn't great but her mimic of Japanese version is unbelievable. I don't like English dubs they are awful especially Helena but...

@Tyaren I agree with your general feeling that the English voice of Marie Rose end to give to her a different personality (even if we still need DoA6' story mode for realizing fully it) compared with the Japanese one. By the way personally I really like her English voice in absolute, just I think that she end to be different from the original one: it's the same problem that the fans of Ryu have with Troy Baker acting in DoA5, for me very good taken in absolute but not so loyal to the Japanese character.
But I repeat that with this I don't think that ENG Marie Rose is bad or the worst, just the opposite (sadly I can't say the same for Leifang's English actress..)
PS: If my previous hypothesis should be true, I just realized a little trend: seems that TN is willing to add in every update of the game a number of 5 characters:
DoA5: Akira, Sarah, Rig, Mila, Pai
DoA5U: Momiji, Ein, Jacky, Leon, Rachel

When Marie said the "Bigger isn't always better, y'know." line, it's something that I want Ayane to sound like with her "Y'know, you should watch your opponent when you fight." line (and I'm not even talking about both having "y'knows" either lol). Then again, I never had much of an issue with Ayane's ENG voice.
So 5 introduced 3 girls and 2 guys, then 5U brought 3 more guys and 2 more girls.
It's safe to assume we would get another girl and 2 more guys for 5UA (if they are introducing more characters)

Well, if really they will introduce three more characters, I think that it's safe to say that at least one will be a female and at least one will be a male, not sure about the third (even because who could end to be second guy in addition to Tengu? Genra is - sadly - very unlikely; Raidou even more unlikely if Phase-4 is a mimic character, Donovan seems to me too much premature and from VF the first guests on the list should be Eileen and Aoi... maybe could be a new original male chara?).

I was merely following the sequence with how Vanilla 5 had 2 guys and 3 girls before 5U introduced 3 guys and 2 girls. My biggest bet on the male character is probably an original character because out of everyone introduced in 5/5U, Rig was the only male that is neither a guest character or a comeback character.
