no I'm not ..

in order to dish out max damage, u need high execution with genfu. particularly his 3_P , 44P.P and 2P+K46P ender

not to mention his dash into 16P for the close hit ender after flop stun

To use effectively he's not difficult, imo. Maybe to get the maximum amount of damage it's a little harder then most but then again i'm a kof player so inputs aren't that difficult too me. Eh.

I ain't, for one. I feel like Eliot fights like a sluggish old man, but trying to hide it. I can't hit squat when mashing with Gen Fu. Then again, i don't really know wither, but i'm just throwing my two haypennies at it.

Gen fu is a stubby fucker, you really need to get in someone's face to be very effective. I agree with eliot though, he just feels really weird.

OK, heres a little challenge for you KOF man:

using Genfu: (Opp Guarding)44P > (BT)4PP > 3P+K > 44P.P > 3_P > 3_P > 16P -- vs. Hayate

Try and land this combo and then come back to me

(this works on fastest stagger escape... part of the challenge)

You can charge the 44P for a bit extra damage... but lets see u pull off the regular version first

Challenge goes to everyone else

The problem with Eliot isn't that he's sluggish, it's that his attacks have no power trying to stun your opponent long enough to really do anything is a nightmare and his launchers are nothing to be impressed by. The only reliable way to get anything besides chip damage seems to be his quarter circle throws though his 4T brings a tear to me eye whenever I land it on a countering opponent *sniff* so beautiful T_T

Eliot is ironically like Ayane in that he fights best when facing AWAY from an opponent -_-

watch my video again ... you'll change your mind.

Eliot is a very good Character IMO ... but again .. tough to use.
In fact, according to the Japanese players, they consider him one of the top characters

I dunno, that's not that hard unless you try to manually FC3P instead of buffering it. Like the hardest thing about it is not screwing up 16P input.

What, you mean the dumb 44PP timing? I dunno. Maybe it's cause I usually play 2D fighters, but I don't really have a problem with the timing. I've done CB into 44PP FC3 FC3 16P before, though.

EDIT: Like I find the WR relaunch combos for certain characters a lot harder than 44PP timing.

Oh god, what if they pick a non-fighter series like final fantasy. Could you imagine having to put up with Tidus?

Technically, DOA already has a lot of weapon wielders converted into full-fledged fisticuff fighters and some of them even incorporated spells into their fighting style. As long as there is no one using a projectile or a weapon, it's all good for me.

I wasn't thinking along the lines of weapons. Most arts come from weapon wielding with hand-to-hand as a backup plan. Since that's no longer practical (and also because many became sports), they reversed the order they teach in.

I'm just picturing Tidus himself. The guy with the awkward dialog, the bad laugher, and the male Marie Rose.

I get excited when Hayabusa does his fireball in powerblows. I wouldn't mind it if the fireball comes out raw if the powerblows whiffs.

Lol. Tidus acts like Marie? Awkward dialogue is all over the place in DOA5's story. Just look at Christie.

:christie: "You have grown up. You're quite the real man~ I'm looking for a real man~ -sips martini-"

Power Blows can be the only exception where I'd prefer seeing a fireball.

Yeah, but he'd have to charge for a long time, it'd have obvious whirling wind effects, and it's linear. Also, he's a super ninja. If Zack has lasers...

That do shit damage, and is easily avoided. Also keep in mind when he uses that thing the game goes slow-mo that blast actually charges up very quick

I honestly don't think DOA's ever had a tough to use character, unless by tough to use you mean low tier. If you think that Gen combo is tough, try chaining a few of Nina's iWS 1's in Tekken, or a few of Akira's knees in VF, or reliably pulling off aPat's JF moves in SC... Don't even get me started on Marvel or SF lol I'm hoping with P4 we finally have an execution heavy character but I have a feeling she's no harder than Kasumi

...I said that it would come out as a whiffed powerblows. If you can't react to a whiffed powerblow in time to sidestep, that's a whole other problem.
