I honestly keep forgetting DOA has guys. I'm fine with it though lol
Because most of the guys have bland personality types. The girls at least are somewhat interesting, and honestly, it's more fun to use the females and seeing them fight. After all, not only are they cute, but they have some of the best and most diverse costume sets in the game.

But you have to admit, the DOA girls are the stars of the game. They are what draw the casual crowd in and get people playing. Plus, they do have some of the most fun fighting styles in the game.

Not everyone but it's a matter of subjective preference. Most prefer them for speed but playstyle-wise it's not a one shoe fits all situation. There are girls who are bland to me or bland to others by personality, by fighting style, by appearance, etc.

Are you saying this because you really find this to be true or just saying it just because?
Because I find it true. Believe it or not, I take no issue playing female characters. In fact, I quite often do in other games. I play characters that I like their persona, flare and fighting style. Character gender isn't really a primary concern for me.

Hands down, Hayabusa is more fun than any other mother-fucker in the game. Had he been a chick from the beginning, I'd still be maining the same character. He's doing cool shit 24/7
After that: boom, it's Leon. No doubt. The simply brutality of the character and the satisfaction of overwhelming your opponent by sheer, unstoppable force is hard to match.
After that, it is actually a female character. La Mariposa. Her moves are flashy, intuitive and fun to do.
And after her is probably Tina.
Next I'd say it's Rig. His fighting style looks great and having practiced TKD myself, a lot of it kinda resonates with me.
Next in line I'd say is Akira (even though I suck balls with him). His level of execution makes each movement thrilling, and, and his vibe is serene but aggressive (much like Hayabusa). That drive you get dominating a fight is great.

I could go on, but long story short: the guys in general just tend to have the better fighting/playstyles to me. I don't play male characters 'cause they're male, I play them because they're fun.

You make excellent points Brute. I chose to play as Eliot, not because he was male, but because I liked the overall character and his fighting style was fun and easy to pick up, but can be deadly in the right hands. Ayane is my favorite female character to use, because of her swiftness and her spins. I also love using Brad Wong because he likes alcohol and his drunken kung-fu fighting style is just too fun. Tina and La Mariposa both have some fun styles to use. Rachel hits like a truck. Ein has always been cooler than Hitomi, but also hits like a truck. Gah, I could go on and on about why I love using the characters that I use.

Yeah. I'd easily say that the coolest characters in DOA are the dudes.

Bankotsubo, Leon, Bayman, Brad Wong, Bass, Genra, Raidou...

DOA may market itself on tits, but the sausage fest is where it's at.

Imo Christie is the coolest cucumber in this game. Just about everything she does (besides losing every fight ever in the story) is so smooth and she gives off such a badass vibe. She's mysterious and really makes you wonder about her past and what experiences shaped her into the cold-blooded assassin she is today. Her fighting style is so disciplined, unique, fits her incredibly well, and looks like it took a lot of training.

I suppose that whole description could fit a few other characters but I still think she's the coolest and I wish I could be even half as flawless as she is. /christierant

They already announced that there would be like.... what, 5 dlc characters? I don't see DOA6 coming that soon either...

Actually this is a supposition of the fans based on the place that the DLC characters got on the DOA5 official sites: by the way, even considering that DoA5 and 5U disc added both of the 5 new characters, it's pretty likely that we will end to get 3 more characters (but definitely I would say that 2 more are certain, considering like more times after Phase-4 TN repeated that more characterS will be added).

I didn't see the quote about more characters after P4 but if it was in Japanese it's worth pointing out that if they just said キャラクター it can mean either 1 character or 10 characters.

But there's just enough room on the character select for 1 more character after P4, and I believe the bundle comes out around September which doesn't leave time for more unless they REALLY speed things up...

I dunno but I find a lot of the female chars to be kind of dull, Doa though has some of the coolest male chars to me, like Busa, Leon, Ein, Genra, Bayman. It's funny that Doa is the one fighting game where I primarily play the guys, in the other fighters I tend to play the females more often than not.

Actually I read such posts more times from it and in English.

I would agree with you about the time, but something say me that the next characters could end to be added to console with a gap lower compared to Marie Rose: TN already hinted it about the release of Phase-4 (and maybe the fact that she is part of the contest could be an indirect proof of it).

By the way, remember that TN didn't talk exactly about 6 months for the complete bundle of charas, but on the opposite about 6 months or more.

EDIT: About the symmethy of the roster don't care too much for it, TN have a complete fourth row that can use to place 1 or 2 charas more (and btw 2 charas in the fourth row would make it symmetric yet). In the past I made a similar reasoning taking in consideration the random filter of the characters (able to include not more than 30 characters), and with Phase4 TN already proved me wrong thinking that a such element can be used for seeing a limit in the number of fighters added to the game...
