Phase-4 is absolute bullshit. You would think she would be in Vanilla if she was gonna be another Kasumi (aesthetically), WITH MORE KASUMI COSTUMES!

Yeah I'd prefer more original outfits for P4, but at least she is getting something outside of a robe recolor unlike Kasumi Alpha and her ninja outfit or Alpha 152 and her skin

Another problem I have with Phase 4 is that she is not evil enough. Her personality is also a lot like original Kasumi:

Oh of course if these *NOT* Kasumi costumes went to Kasumi then the gap between her costume wardrobe to the other fighters would be even more disgustingly biased. So why not take out two birds with one stone and simply add a Kasumi clone character?
1. It would be an alternative host to funnel more Kasumi DLC costumes into the market because we all know how hot and now those costumes are ^_^
2. Adding another character even if just a clone pads up the roster size and helps address another front of promoting the arcade port of DoA5U and get more people to play the game by increasing play-style variety.
I don't particularly like the direction TN has been heading lately in regard to DLC , but I would be lying if I claimed that I failed to see the logic behind their strategies. That is why you leave emotion out of business or you won't last long.

This. Without the hood, she is just kasumi. They should a given her short hair like the salt on that top contest submission, to differentiate her.
Like we called it, looks like the contest submissions were only going to be used as references and inspirations, not whole dlc outfits themselves..So is this technically @axouel2009 's design in the game? I know it doesn't look quite like it but there are a lot of similarities:
the only real similarities are the stockings and overalls, and the overalls we know are because of this retarded farm DLC theme. considering stockings are a common choice for lolis its likely coincidence

I don't think she is suppose to be really evil. I think she is a girl forced to be an evil puppet for M.I.S.T but is actually kind and wants to be free.

Unproven. Ein's profile on the official site, along with his intro with Lisa, suggest that one of them may very well be a clone.
at the time she was actually pretty original at the time. prior to her all fighting game main characters were hot blooded men looking for a fight lu kang,akira, Ryu etc..
Axel feels exactly like I am feeling or Russian chiropractic, that it is just a coincidence. These new DLC costumes were very likely already in the planning, maybe even ready, when the costume contest was running. (It really takes a while to plan and produce outfits.) Team Ninja also gave everyone (not just Marie Rose) a denim overall plus something character specific, to not be too generic/lazy. Stockings or ringed stockings are very common in lolita fashion. That was probably the first character specific addition TN could think of regarding MR.
Apart from the stockings and suspenders Axel's outfit and this DLC outfit have actually not much in common.
