Looking at those stages and costumes makes me realize how different DOA was. I started playing at DOA4, and before then all my friends always said how DOA was a tit and ass fighter. Other than the volleyball games I didn't think DOA was too over the top. And the stages always seemed like there was a lot of work put into them. Now most of the stages are squares/circles, and most of the costumes are fetish costumes and swimsuits. Not only that, but those costumes are copy-paste ones that cost two dollars apiece. I wish TN would work harder on making the game respectable and not worry about how much money they can get selling uninspired costumes. Maybe it's not their fault and its more Tecmo Koei, but its pretty disheartening that despite being more than ten years old, DOA3 and DOA2U have a better overall design. DOA5 rocked the character models though

So Phase-4 is releasing this week. Luckily, I have enough money to purchase her...but not enough to purchase the costumes. Once again, I'll get to purchase the new character, but not their costumes. Hope Team Ninja allows me to catch up, because I still have costumes to purchase. And also, I might purchase the Private Paradise videos just so I can have all of the content for DOA5U.

Even if you don't buy the outfits with her you're only paying a little extra. The super duper bundle deal by buying P4 with the dlc outfits saves you $1.
To the private paradise thing- just look them up on youtube. You only see those lock symbols if you go into the movie section so it's not like you're constantly being faced with them in character select.

That's like saying we shouldn't have to pay for characters though, since competitively it's necessary to know every character. Or at least the characters your competitors are using.
Stages affect gameplay less than characters, yet we're paying for the characters. So why is paying for stages such a bad thing? I don't think it is. I'd pay for stages gladly. If they were good ones anyway. Besides, chances are it'd just turn into a situation similar to core fighters > retail version where the stage is there- just locked until you purchase it. However if someone has bought the stage they can select it- and you can still fight in it.

I'm more interested in making sure I can purchase all the new characters first and then buy the costumes later. But it still kind of irks me when I don't have every costume for all the characters. I just like having options and even though Phase-4 (Dark Kasumi) has very similar outfits, I like the options. But yeah, for now, I'm just going to purchase P-4 by herself and save money for Lady Tengu.
Lol, you wouldn't understand! I'm a completionist when it comes to things like this! Well, depends on the game. I've bought pretty much every piece of DOA5U DLC thus far, so that's over $200 worth of content. Sounds crazy, but hell, that's how much I love and play this game.

So basically, people like us are the reason why we keep getting costume DLC and new characters? I feel better knowing I'm not the only one out here buying all the DLC thus far.
