I believe you're thinking of Douglas, there. And they don't really seem to be wives, so much as...concubines.

Did anyone notice how much they took away from DOA5 that were in previous DOAs? Like, when fights start, the camera doesn't transition to the two fighters on the stage? Or how there are no replays anymore? Why did they get rid of these little touches? Also, we need the DJ announcer voice back from DOA4. "GET REEEAAADDDYYY!!!!!!! FIGHT!!!"

1. Change in format of the openings being movie clips instead of in-game movements.
2. No replays is because of lack of RAM to keep both the conditions of the characters as well as everything going on in the stage at that moment. Things like it maybe catching mid-power blow special trigger or something, etc.
