DOA5U already has some limited character customization options, such as different hairstyles, glasses, panty options, and other costume specific options for certain characters. Why not just have it so that each character has their own unique items to customize them with and you choose the colors of said items? For example, Leifang would have her trademark Chinese dress, but instead of each recolor being treated as a separate costume, you can choose a preset color OR use a color tool to choose a color for the dress. I think Team Ninja could make character/costume customization work. If they can spend time making these costumes, then I don't see how they couldn't make a customization option. I'm betting 100% they'd do it VF style, where each character has their own specific set of items they can equip.

Because if you can choose colors for leifang we will see a thousand Chun Li s online.

That is the danger of even the slightest color options.

I still say keep it as option to make an outfit from pieces of existing outfits, and nothing more.

Definitely no to customization. Quality plummets in every game it get puts in (I still have nightmares from TTT2) not to mention TN would provide mostly female fetish clothing/items and give the guys sh*t like they always do.

I'm for character customization, but against character creation.

I'm against character creation as well:

I guess my dreams of customization in DOA will not be realized. Guess they should stick with the limited customization they have now, but it would be nice to see the customizations from the character select screen. Also, I feel like recolors shouldn't get their own separate slot. But I do realize it was an issue in DOA3, so I guess Team Ninja had to give recolored outfits their own slot so people could use the same costume, even though it's a different color.

Ooh, you almost forgot how you can customize (female) underwear.

I didn't forget lol. I always rember to toggle!

C2, triangle for black and white checkered bra.

Schoolgirl outfit, square for red with yellow polkadots.

Bedtime triangle plus x for frilly pink.

I use pants as an option on all my characters (thanks for the reference though). Shirt optional.

Except Hayate/Ein, shirtless mandatory. I'm straight but damn.

Weren't the Casual costume sets supposed to be on sale this month too? All I see is the discounted bikini sets and Vanilla DOA5 mega-set.

Don't we already have a blue recolor of her china dress though?

I don't mind customization but if it's like Soulcalibur where the pieces sit 6 inches off the models body, then no thanks. Fighting big formless characters online always sucked too.

Every time Argentus posts one of his nonsensical "This is bad but this other thing that's exactly like it isn't" arguments someone always goes off on a tangent spanning multiple pages trying to make sense of the argument, where there is no sense to be made.

That's ending now. I don't like to censor people but everyone's already heard the argument a dozen times over and it always stirs up the hive and garners the same reaction(s). If you want to discuss it further, create a new thread for it.
