Let's hope Sony doesn't go full retard like Microsoft just did.

This would have been an average conference without the drm, cloud computing BS- with that still hanging in the air and now telling me it's 500 bucks, that live is still a a paid service and that free games ONLY extend up until X1 launch....they are trying to fuck me.

Impolitely.

Thanks for Fuckin up my lunch break.

I wish people stop blindly riding Sony. Dickriding. is. not. a form. of transportation!
Yeah gameover is enjoying this too much.

Unless Sony lays out their DRM policy then their presser might not be much better.

PS4 can fuck it up too.

This is about waaaay more than brand loyalty GO, I hope you understand that.

I'm really curious to see what the PS4 price is going to be now, especially knowing that their technology is better than the X1's.

This was THE best moment of that entire conference.

"We will start over..."

No one is "riding" Sony. Microsoft just so happens to be genuinely screwing up, for the most part.

Granted, some of the games did compel me enough to not watch something else that starts with an X (X-Men, Xena, Xenogears, XXX-rated porn, X-Games, XFL), but the $499 pricetag (as opposed to what many are speculating will be $349 for the PS4) is what's throwing me off-course yet again. And coming from someone who has supported MS moreso than Sony for the past 7 or so years, it is safe to say I am thinking with an unbiased, open mind.

Either way, it looks like PC is gonna convert more console gamers than ever this generation, by the looks of things so far.

I realize this. But the way I see it, MS didn't do much to restore momentum lost from that CLUSTERF*** of a reveal event, and Sony is now in position to gain MASSIVE support leading into launch! And yeah, Sony might end up implementing similar policy to MS, but then again, they might handle it like they did bringing PSN to PS3 ... leaving it up to publishers. I've said in another thread how doing that would ALREADY be better for consumers than MS's policy since not every publisher will likely choose to implement ridiculous DRM.

But no matter how this plays out, I'm enjoying the ride as it develops! That's certainly more fun than being a cynic the whole way through!

Actually the general population is pretty impressed with what MS showed. There were a few moments that even I rolled my eyes at, but overall I was quite happy with a lot of the games that were shown. Check Twitter for instance.

Just got back from preordering my Xbox One and a copy of Battlefield 4. They didn't have the SKU for Killer Instinct so I coudn't get that yet. And if you guys think it won't be played at tournaments because of the online thing, you're nuts. EVERYONE has a mobile hotspot on their phones now that you can use to authenticate the Xbox One at the end of the night with.

Let's not pretend we're living in 2007 still. And depending on how the family thing works, maybe there's a way to even only buy one copy of the game if the consoles are all rocking one profile. Think about it this way: buy the game on one Tournament Organizer profile, put said profile on several consoles for the tournament, authenticate them, then in between matches every hour or so connect one at a time to authenticate. That seems to me that it would work since you'd then take them all offline. I could be wrong but that seems like a plausible, favorable scenario for TO's money-wise.

Xbox.

Go home.

You're drunk.

As a person who has tested various games in the industry, I can tell you that is not necessarily the case. It's possible they just had the pc icon assets in the build on accident, or allowed for keyboard to control the game on the 360 with the proper debug drivers installed.

That stopped being humorous with the original Kinect, honestly. My faith has been restored by the announcements after the admittedly terrible reveal event and now the games. Those were some great exclusives and the multiplat games like MGS5 and Battlefield looked phenomenal as well.

Meh, even if I was interested in any of the exclusives I still wouldn't purchase the console due to the DRM and Privacy issues. Pretty much all of the good stuff is multiplatform so whatever.

Faith wasn't restored, they just did what any used car dealer does - sell you on the test drive.

The difference is that we have 4 more months for the euphoria of the test drive to wear off instead of a few minutes.

Spark was good.
New Halo is good.

But I have minecraft
BF4 will be multiplat
Titan fall is on 360
PS3 online is free and I bet it'll still be free and better on PS4 (Better than PS3 that is).

So what was sold to me?

I think this was a C+ conference when it really needed to be an A- atleast.
