Yeah this is the only disappointing news to me, im used to PSN being free online. I prefer it that way too, + is a great service to those who want it. I wasn't really interested. Now it feels forced.

Still buying the Xbox One. Their conference convinced me and Sony's won't make me change my mind. They didn't tell me anything new about the Xbox One, after all.

Sony did just beat the shit out of MS in terms of the press conferences though. Public opinion will be massively in Sony's favor with the not-so-subtle finger wagging at MS and the lower price point. They did manage to sneak the bit about having to pay to play online in their pretty well but I'm not sure that even registered on most people due to how hard they were fist-pumping the air.

Who cares, I'll take a charge for PS+ because it's a great service.

It's the same thing as online passes - vs 24 hr checkins, non ownership of games, a weaker system and a lower cost entry point? Ill glady take online passes.

It's basically a more powerful 360 with better exclusives.

On the bright side, $5 a month is tons better than paying $10 a month. I'm disappointed about paying for online too, but thinking about it that way, it's much more reasonable.

Sony are clever bastards. Make everyone happy by bashing MS, but then in a very sneaky way say they're gonna start charging to play online. But because everyone is focused on- and overly happy regarding the whole DRM thing, they'll let it slide. You people are so easily manipulated.

Sure they added the paywall behind multiplayer, it sucks, but + is already a better value than XBL even without it. My discs are not coasters and never will be, so as far as consumer rights go they're leagues ahead of MS no matter how you spin it.

Well to be fair Sony is $4.17 a month and Micro is $5 a month, but PS Plus is still a better deal. Plus, PS4 is $100 cheaper. I'm so having the PS4/Wii U combo (and maybe an Xbox One late in its lifetime).

That's been the one and only downside from this press conference for me. But I wouldn't consider praising the quality for the amount of money we have to shell out for this compared to Xbone as being "manipulated". That's the wrong word to use in this case if you ask me. More like having better business sense and taking the opportunity to give the greatest comedic smackdown in E3 history.

PS+ was already an infinitely better value than gold is so them now tacking on online play as part of it doesn't deter from the fact that all games will be MINE and i won't have intrusive bullshit drm and always online garbage infesting my gaming lifestyle with PS4

I can't think of a reason to even consider buying an Xbox One any more. The exclusives didn't interest me at all. It has worse specs than the fucking PS4, but demands control over you every fucking day, and has a higher price. Like... WTF is this? At least offer something to think about...

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that paying for PS+ is the end of the world. I pay for XBL. It's just that they managed to turn something that would normally make people angry regarding PSN, into something people don't mind, simply because of the timing and the way the said they were gonna charge for it. They avoided a shitstorm of their own, by basically reinforcing the shitstorm MS already has, driving the negative attention away from themselves.

Funny how that works really. Steam doesn't let you resell games, lend games, or trade them in. Yet everyone praises steam like crazy. MS does the same model, which still allows more than Steam, suddenly it's the end of the world. As for the 24 hour authentication, if you're on this website daily, why does it matter if your Xbox needs to be online daily too?

Again, don't get me wrong. If I had to choose between the two consoles, I would go for the PS4. Not because of the DRM, but because of the entry price point. But as of now, I'll be getting neither. The games that interest me, Mirror's Edge, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, are also on PC.

One thing that has me concerned is the amount of freezing of the PS4. Not only ACIV had the issue, but so did Destiny. Makes me wonder if it's the GDDR5..
