Weirdest Online Moments

I never had a reason to make a genuine post in here until today.
I was playing with Princess kasumi and some randoms, but PK left and it was just me and this other guy.

I picked Ein and he picked Kokoro, but when the match started we were both Kasumi in her C3 O_O and halfway through round 1 our inputs would halt comepletely until time up.

Wow.
Remindsme of other matchup glitches like when it would throw me in to spectate a ranked match rather than be in the ranked match.

Yesterday I had a new, fresh internet connection so I was telling two friends to play some DOA and see if my connection was good (as far as good goes online). So I'm playing against a friend, I'm Rachel and he picks Mila. We have four bars and everything is chill until the other friend enters. His connection was so bad that I played against him and lagged out of the lobby, while the other friend lagged out of the XBL party.

It was the weirdest thing in weeks since we never had any problems before. Hurr durr DOA.

Well, this thread was quite interesting, had some good laughs~

I haven't played DOA5 in wayyy over a year, I miss it~

but if anything, I'm the person who made shit weird in lobbies sometimes. I'd just go into the room speaking like a girl(a really annoying one) and just fool everyone the whole time. Then sometimes(depending on how hilarious the situation got) I would just start talking like a dude again which would either 1) freak people out and get amazing reactions or 2) Suddenly, I'm playing the part of 2 people in the room.

Too good...... doing this on CoD was amazing as well.... lil 12 year old kids acting like hot shit, when it's way past their bed time.

Have any of you been in a situation where you complimented someone and it seemed to really piss them off? I'm in this situation in this lobby and I don't undertand it at all. I complimented a Bass player and now he's going ballistic on me

This one time I was playing against someone and I got kinda bored. I was like "Gg bud" and he went all offensive like "im not in the mood for this and dont learn anything from this" and he was saying how getting beaten by a way better player just gives bad/new players even less confidence. I'm just paraphrasing here but this is what it came down to. I honestly don't know what to feel in situations like that.

I haven't won against this Bass a single time so it's not like I'm beating him but the two words "nice Bass" must have been really insulting to him for some reason

That happened to me in vanilla Bass player beats me until we get to home stage. I try to throw him through everything because his footies is way better than mine I won. And I said grappler fights are the best, he calls me a throw spamming turtle despite him winning 2/3 matches already.

Maybe he felt it was passive aggressive compliment? Some people are easily irritable or maybe they've been having a bad day or something...... or it could be random as fuck LOL... but it's not really out of the ordinary to me to hear something like this happen, especially with a game like DOA...

I'd be lying if I said I've never gotten just annoyed or even angry at people who have good intentions like this. I try not to let it show though through words or arguments though as it just makes me look even worse for acting out.

I feel like fighting games in general tend to rely on your state of mind a lot. Whenever I've gotten mad or irrational, my skills during the fight decrease a lot and I start making so many wrong moves.... it sucks :/

Same guy like in my previous post:
I just switched to spectator because he had to taunt every single round he was able to win with his Ayane. I was simply not in the mood for that, but also did not necessarily wanted to kick him. Since no one else was in the lobby, he wrote this after a couple of minutes:

I hate to ask but I want to know; What is your reason for not kicking someone but instead just waiting for them to leave?

Hmm ... somehow, I don't like to use the kick option without having any real reason or if someone is just not acting the way would prefer it. It's literally like giving someone a good kick up the bum, therefore, I wouldn't do that to someone as long as I don't know if his actions which might bother me are really just done with wilful intent. I mean, it's literally like you would draw you weapon and shoot someone you're having a discussion with immediatly just because you do not agree with what he says.

For example, it's not rare that you will see players on PSN or XBL which don't have a problem with taunts, corpse beating and so and similar actions that are just look stupid and unsportive in my point of view.

That's why I usually prefer to give people some kind of an hint first, too see if they'll notice that I do not like their actions or agree with them. I do that because I believe it's not necessary and not a good thing if everyone just deals with things that might not fit their taste according to the motto "Out of sight, out of mind".

In my case, it could have also been possible that the guy just said "Oh, you don't like that? Sorry, I'm not doing it again." and we could have had some more friendly and enjoyable matches. It could have been so easy, but unfortunatly, he failed to see that his actions might bother other people, however, since he left on his own then, I was not forced to do something that might have gnawn on my conscience later. In this case, I also did not mind to wait because there was no one else in the lobby and if he wouldn't have left on his own, I just would have left and created a new one in a few seconds.

Imo, kicking someone should always be the last resort and used if words and do not help anymore, because if everyone is doing so immeditaly, the online world would just degenerate even faster to a place of heedlessness which it is already becoming more and more.

I don't know if this answer is enough for you to understand my reasons, but I guess it's the best explenation that I can provide you.

Shikimaru joined a lobby I was in. Apparently started talking trash. I had him on ignore so I can't confirm (he was sending me hatemail on PSN before since I just banned him on FSD earlier that day). He gets kicked, then re-joins under a new username IRON_FIST_
His net moves slower than a geriatric triathlon. He then spams Zack 2K like toolface out of Home Depot. Starts talking trash, letting me know it's him. I put him on ignore. Then he leaves.

Shiki-life. lol

And trying to cuss out the rest of the lobby to butt out as we explain that you can't see what he's saying because you set him to ignore...

that had the potential to be more dramatic, I was a little disappointed. First fight though he saw you use Hayabusa, on the mic he was yelling something along the lines of "look at the spam!!!"

Also, stumbled across this
