Why do so many people dislike the VF cast?

What system do you play on? I'll be happy to teach you Sarah anytime. Just don't get discouraged about using her since among the several people I've trained with Sarah, a few of them have done the same thing. The most common reaction is that she's too hard to learn, but in all honesty Akira beats her. :p

My first time actually using Akira I tried his combo challenge and managed to get 80% complete, but man that one frame knee is a monster. Couldn't get it consistently. Much respect to DestructionBomb and other Akira players that can do it regularly.

I'm on the 360. And I don't have gold membership.

He's the hardest character to use in the game but he is very fun to use. But yeah, only PS4 here on my side.

Aww, well that's a bummer. Would have been nice to spar. :/

Yeah, I was getting into his combos and stuff. Was pretty intense, lol. He can be a fun character to use for sure, but in my case I'd have to re-map my controller settings in order to use his one frame knee. Or I'm missing an easier setup or way to do it.

Well that's alright, no big deal. ;)

Akira has some pretty insane knock back on some of his attacks.... an agressive Akira player shouldn't have any trouble getting someone to a wall.

Yup, exactly. The Akira player I mentioned previously was very aggressive, so I had to adapt quickly to him in order to not get smothered. My sidestep attacking and timing of pokes improved a lot within that short amount of time because of that. I would hold more, but I don't like guessing holds, since I get into the habit of overusing them if I do. Akira is a great character to play against to improve certain aspects of defense and tactics, since he's so fast and hard hitting.

LoL.... thats what the AI does with Akira if you turn up the knob on the difficulty...... he's a colossal turtle and Counter hits the living crap out of button mashers.

Yeah, on level 8 he's pretty turtle heavy (on all difficulties actually), but he certainly times things well and crushes careless players.

I personally don't like facing the CPU ever, but if there's an instance where I would find playing them helpful, it's the difficulties 6-8 aggressive amount of accurate holding that they do. Can't even describe how accurate they are with that, and then when I try to throw punish their holds, they never hold, lol. It's good for timing when to attack after they hold, which is something I want to get better at instead of throw punishing all the time.

LoL... ironocally this seems to happen alot with Pai Chan.... she never miss a hold and never gets punished for holding...

Theres this thing the AI use to do back in 5 Vanilla where if they held too soon they they would side step your attacks.... this stopped happening in 5U..... but when ever I use Sarah Or Jacky then it starts doing it again. Actually the AI side steps ferociously whenever I pick a VF Character..... fine by me..... I like throwing anyway.

VF characters don't have flashy combos? Really? Have you seen Jacky? He has a freaking move affectionately nicknamed "Flash Kick" and it's essentially for his high damaging combos. How's that NOT flashy? xD

Lol. I love the way Sarah, Jacky and Pai strings combos together, and Akira looks just straight up painful.

Yeah, when played well, those characters move so flawlessly and fluidly. Now Akira is stiff af but that's not to say he doesn't have flashy combos either. ;)

I like how Akira and Jacky can juggle with a simple low punch....

Actually many veteran Sarah players with replays on Youtube have shown that you can throw in a low punch mid juggle to continue things. I've used it myself on several occasions. Works just fine. ;)

Here's an example from the Crazy man himself. xD

I did it once just to see if it was possible......
How many DoA characters have 12 (2) 14 low punches ?

I actually don't know to be honest. Most of my focus is on my main and no' one else. I know Hitomi, Momiji and Jacky pretty well, but not nearly well enough to start giving advice. lol
