Would You Buy A Next-Gen Version of DOA5? (PS4/Xbox One)

Why get it on a second? Different playerbase, plain and simple.

Moot point unless something is announced.

The chance of running into a player on either the XB1 or PS4 that doesn't own DOA5U on one of the 7-ish year old consoles is extremely slim, seeing as how very few people (relative to the older consoles) actually own the newer generation.

I wouldn't cough up money to increase my current playerbase by, like, 5 people. There's no point.

Yes, I'd get it. Updated graphics a given, better netcode, not having to switch back to my 360/PS3 to play, no problems here.

I'd almost expect this to be announced with DOA5U Arcade.

Nope. I heavily defended the release of DOA5U on every site/comment section I'm on, but releasing yet another version would be worthy of the horrible accusations people gave TN for 5U. Really, it's time to move on to DOA6. The only other release of DOA5U I would accept would either be on Vita since Vita owners still only have Plus or on PC (without any exclusive content).

And you'd be switching between your Xbox One and PS4 anyway since the fanbase would still be split.

I don't know. Have to be a pretty decent upgrade. If it's anything like Ultimate, no. Shouldn't have even been called that. I don't see it happening anyways. Don't think the sales of Ultimate warrant another release of the game. Just not really worth it to them I'd think. Who knows though, maybe it will get another release.

It will help them with the learning curve for a next gen system to release an upgraded version for next gen before moving on to 6. It makes sense and people will buy it. If they're quick enough, it will be one of the few fighters on the platform and get a decent round of media attention. Would not be surprised, and it would make for a smart move.

The only fighters on next gen are Killer Instinct on XO (very good game) and Injustice Ultimate on PS4 (oh look, a precedent)

I'd be fine if it were just a plain port of 5U and 5U Core Fighters with cross platform play between PS3 and PS4.

This is an old furphy.

They can do two things at once, and it may help their developer rotation to work on established projects while ramping up for something new.

TN have made a point to say their teams are bigger now and work on multiple projects. So, lets not attempt to micromanage what they can/can't do from outside in fan land.

I'd rather have a full-HD DOA6 with 3 newcomers, new stages, new costumes, new movesets, a new story and a new atmosphere in 2015-2016.
