Dead or Alive 5: Remaining Issues

Hey It's all cool.

Anyways I really hope something is done to bring back CB back to the way it used to be. But even if not, I hope there are plenty of other viable options to make the game a good fighter.

Recommend you start harassing them over twitter if thats what you want. Like, right now.

Done my part. I'm thinking about writing a full letter to them on my blog and sharing it via Twitter. I'd be needing a full list of the changes needed and why we need them. Besides faster ways to reach CB, frame advantage on block, safer attacks, more natural combos, more guard breaks and crushes and better NH launchers.

This is what the stun game should look like in Doa5:

-And if you want to play the stun game, you Have Critical bursts that will reward you for going that route.

I didn't see hardly any stuns, which was nice... but I also didn't see hardly any blocking. And it wasn't just because of spacing and SS attacks. They just didn't seem to know where the block button was. o_0

My biggest issue with SCV was having much of the fun sapped out of playing Yoshi

That happened from SC4 to SC5. Then they nerfed him slightly in the SC5 patch... as if he needed the nerf. I have no idea what Project Soul was thinking with Yoshi.

Japanese seem to have no problem taking western feedback, but its like as soon as a Japanese player contradicts it we are automatically shut out.
Weren't certain Westerners contradicting you and Dr. Dogg at E3 too? They'll listen to who they want to listen to and ignore our feedback unless we do something drastic...

Seems to be how fighting game developers solve most of their "issues". It's pretty deplorable.
Sounds like a bad attitude...

-Lol, But there were hardly any stuns. Forget the horrible blocking lol. Just makes the fact that the attacks on hit rarely caused stuns. This is what Doa5 most definitely need.

Yeah, it made me really sad. It's one of the biggest reasons I dislike the game, as petty as that sounds xD they removed moves/stuns (or made near useless, ala Iron-Fist Possession) that made up about 1/3 of my gameplay.

I always understand buffing/nerfing a character in upcoming titles, but removing large chunks of a character's movelist makes little sense.

They cut down everyone's move list, so the loss of his stances didn't bother me all that much. Other than the nerfing of his iMCF and many other attacks, the randomizing of his Tekken moves hurt the most. I have no clue what they were thinking with that change.

It seems all these changes you guys mention should have been in the the game (DOA5) to begin with but instead Team Ninja wasted way too much time on unnecessary BS.

They made a lot of big strides from when the game was first displayed to the public. What started off looking like DOA4.3 slowly molded into a hybrid of what was great about DOA3 and what was great about DOA4. I'm interested to see the final product... and DOA6 ;).

See don't you find it strange that some people are looking forward to DOA6 even though DOA5 haven't been release yet? The changes a lot of people were hoping for in DOA6 SHOULD have been in DOA5 and DOA5 should be the hype sequel everybody wants but instead Team Ninja and Tecmo gives us DOA4.5 and even then it's disappointing. Not as bad as Ninja Gaiden 3 but disappointing nonetheless. We're a month and a half away from DOA5 I doubt they'll do anything drastic, if anything they might half a** the rest of the work, seeing how they screwed up my Lee.

There are a lot of changes that have been made for DOA5. I look forward to playing the game. Seeing them make the steps they did, it makes me look forward to what their next steps will be in the next next iteration.

P.S. Lee is better than he was in 4. I don't put him under the "screwed up" category.

Lee looks like Gan Ning from Dynasty Warriors and the black skirt pants doesn't help, they also change his voice actor and IMO it's worst than the one who did his voice in DOA4. I haven't seen his full combo list for DOA5 yet so I can't comment but if that turn out to be stripped down then it's even worse. So far the negatives outshine the positives on him.

Soooo slight aesthetic changes and some verbal ones ruined the character for you? I would have thought a player would be more concerned about their character's moves than little things like pants and "WATAAAAH!"s.

The only negative I see is his voice actor. Jann Lee looks awesome.
