Yep, the PS3 version of DOA5 is going to be the definitive one.

Yeah, it's looking that way, which makes me want a PS3 to play it on. Unfortunately I don't have one, so I'm stuck with the Xbox version.

I don't have a PS3 anymore but I personally like this change of pace because I always said Xbox 360 is a system suited best for Shooters where's to PS3 is Fighters.

I agree with this too. I think the main console of focus should be the PS3 because it's much better suited for fighters than the Xbox is.

I completely fail to understand how a given console can be better suited to a specific genre of game.
I can understand controller preference, but I think the days are long gone when the hardware was better suited to one type of rendering than another (ie, driving game vs. side scroller) - and I think this is off-topic too:(

Well, it's that the PS3 has a better d-pad for fighters, and the Xbox 360 has better trigger buttons for shooters. They also seem to have bigger fanbases for those respective genres.

yup a good dpad make a vast difference in fighters even if i still kept my 360 i'd still get it on ps3 simply for its superior dpad( i can't even imagine pulling off eliots :3_::+::P: consistently multiple times in a juggle on 360's horrid dpad) . I bought and tried various 3rd party controllers with better dpads than MS's on 360 and every last one of them fucked up in some way and broke on me so im done wasting money on halfed ass madcatz and hori pieces of trash so unless MS themselves come up with a better dpad on their 1st party controllers then no way im ever suffering through playiing a fighter on their systems since i'll neither use stick nor support and 3rd party controller ever again

Yes, like I said, I can appreciate controller preferences. I bought a 3rd party controller for DOA4 and still had to get a stick to pull off the Raijin <sp?> . There's a good chance I'll end up getting a stick for PS3 too, if I like the game after it's out and decide to go to any offline events.
I guess Gamescon is over now. ;)

Madcatz? I remember having one of those dumbass controllers for my PS2, it was good until it pulled one of those things out of the
controller slots and completely stop working! :( Hmmm....since you are getting Doa5 on PS3, we must add each other to fight against the ninja spider clan or we can test are skills against eac ohter when I get the internet again! Hayabusa's voice

Why does everyone hate on Metroid Other M ?
I loved the game, Especially coming from the 2D Metroids... and I think it was amazing
the Prime series didn't agree with me very much .. it was cool for a while but I kinda got bored of it.

Getting OT but well lets go at it. The gameplay wasn't the main problem even with its shares of flaws (First Person parts specifically) the main problem was that they Alienated the fan base changing the whole badass samus even in Metroid Prime she showed signs of humanity by being nervous or when you could see her reflection on the visor showing her eyes at times to a very sensible one that can't do anything unless given orders and she is called on of the biggest bounty hunters. The story was poorly written and the dialogue was even worse and the voice acting didn't help at all to the game.

Otherwise the gameplay is alright with tons of cutscenes people don't like that for most people ruin the whole personality of Samus by making her uber sensible and in some moments helpless. Afterall the events of Other M are After Super Metroid where she saw a lot of things already and shouldn't be so sensible, scared, clueless at times and naive. Also doesnt help that the cutscenes go for long and the delivery isnt there in any front.

So yeah the story pretty much is the biggest flaw that ruins the experience for most people. Some also dislike the gameplay changes since the game was limited to Wiimote only where you can surely see better fit for Wiimote + Nunchuck for better movement and probably decent FPS sections.

So... the PS3 will be the definitive version of the game, huh? Can't say I'm not dissapointed... but that's probably just because I don't have it. Had different chances to get it over the past few years but when crunch time came I just didn't care enough. I think I'll actually grab one next time. Needless to say at this point I'll be getting the Xbox version.

Even when I get a PS3, without there being a reason to grab DOA5 (mostly friends which most of mine will be getting TTT2 or neither game) I don't see myself getting it. Maybe later down the road.

See, I liked the story. I liked that she had emotion. I liked the controls and the transition from 3rd to 1st person...
I don't get it. It was a really good game and probably one of the only games I ever finished on the Wii. If anything, it gave high hopes about TNs future projects as well (until NG3 >__>). But yeah....

I liked the human side of Samus... and the cut scenes were great and took nothing away from the gameplay.

The game is very love it or hate it situation with more people on the negative side. I didn't like it but I didnt hate it like most people go around these days.

Why are people assuming the PS3 is the definitive version? Where's the official statement on this?
It wouldn't make much sense to switch the game's long-standing main platform now, aside from maybe in Japan. I personally dislike PS3 controllers for certain fighters as they hurt my hands after a while, even despite having a slightly better DPad. So those controllers "being better for fighters" doesn't apply to everyone.
That being said, a good chunk of players use sticks nowadays anyway. Justifying this apparent switch in main console based on the controller is a tad irrelevant, and the "this console if for shooters and this one is for something else, blah blah" angle is pretty much nonsensical.

DrDogg has informed us that PS3 is the lead development console and will likely be the primary system for competition.
Sadly, I don't recall which thread it was in, but it's been mentioned repeatedly. I'm sure you can find it. :)

Doa is the best only on XBOX. On PS it has problems.... and IDK why... maybe because my hands are too big... lol

For once, IGN fighters will have this game as one of their main line up. They will be using the PS3 as shown by all their events including E3 and HIN.

EVO series is sponsor by sony and thus only use PS3 systems for their event. If EVO add DOA5 to the line up then it will be on the PS3.

MLG also only uses PS3 so if MLG add DOA5 also then it will be on the PS3.

Pretty much, all the big tournament scene will use the PS3 as their system. This definitely doesn't mean that you have to play on the PS3 but all the major events will use PS3 as their system.

You can also buy a 360 to ps3 controller also or jsut use an arcade stick.

People love hating on PS3 & Nintendo consoles :( thats just how its going 2 be. Its too many fanboys out here and I used to be
a giant xbox fanboy until I tried The PS3. My friend RJ owns both consoles and he will tell u fanboys the pros & cons, also,
he HATES PS3/360/PC/nintendo fanboys like theres no tomorrow lol. My father have a xbox 360 and its fucking awesome!
To be honest, I cant see the 360 a better console, sorry, but thats just me, i'll agree some features on there are much better, but
some features on PS3 is better, overall owning both consoles is a MUCH better experience. ;) Anyways, back on topic, so the PS3 version is in the lead i see, well thats good, but hey 360 & PS3 owners dont be worried,
TN will make sure that DOA5 will look good on both consoles. ;)
