DOA5LR Mai Shiranui Joins the Dead or Alive Roster

Mai Shiranui from the legendary Fatal Fury and King of Fighters series is coming to Dead or Alive! Since her birthplace is in Japan it seems like Dead or Alive Festival 2016 is the perfect place to announce this intense crossover. She has her own style of ninjutsu and the look to fit in right at home with the DOA girls... and she's coming soon!

There will also be an Attack on Titan stage, tons more costumes (including some KoF) and even some VR announced for Dead or Alive Xtreme 3. Team NINJA is dipping into a lot of neat and interesting projects this year!

We've all seen what happens when you bring a 2D character into 3D (Looks at Akuma). Lol okay seriously, I'm most likely not going to like her transition.

I'm not surprised people have compared her to Kasumi because there have been Kasumi vs. Mai discussions in the past. It was a fantasy discussion that is now going to become a reality but they are not much alike in combat. If anything Momiji has more in common with Mai.

 

Is that character selection screenshot legit? Why does she look slightly different in facial proportion there?

 

I do recall that several elements in DOA were actually inspired by Mai Shiranui herself.

well Raidou and Nyotengu can't be considered projectile, i mean they have a charge before releasing the projectile which gives you the time to react.
Mai's projectile if is the same that she have in KoF is way faster than that and can ben spammed like all the fireballs like hadoukens and shit, and can be acttualy chained in combos

Seriously doubt that they'll leave her projectiles like that in DOA5LR. Projectiles in 3D fighters are stupid enough as is.

This here. While Mai IS my go to character whenever I play KOF of any game, I won't be instantly transitioning her to main like I did with Nyo and Momiji over Kasumi and Helena.

She'll definitely be someone I use alot, but not instant main.

I said that exact thing on another forum how it's basically fan fiction come to life. But yeah, Mai is closer to Momiji in overall perspective.
