finally got to play this game.

I CAN'T be the only person who unequips the weapons to fight barehanded, can I?

You're not, I use her fastest sword for slot one(It's at level 3) and I use her bare hand variation for heavy attack slot 2...I love that slow heavy kick, it reminds me of Naotora's PP2KK and 6H+KKK. I avoid the first slot since bare fists lack damage in combos but bracers add more attack power

Oh you haven't got it? Don't worry, hopefully it'll come soon and trust me the wait will be worth it, I've stayed up till 12-2 am the past four days just playing this and I'm not sick of it ALL. The game is just so satisfying...I kick myself sometimes realizing that I didn't have an interest in this months ago, had I not tried the demo I probably wouldn't have even got it.

I...I love this game

Nope,

Square Enix shipped it out via the slowest method via USPS and Canada post doesn't keep track of it. So there is NO way for me to know where the shipment is once it entered Canada lol. Probably stuck in customs...

Lucky man, I can't wait to play it!

So you still use the default set up?

I've been using the Type 40 Sword and Spear myself and two light swords as my secondary weapon set.

Heavy weapons are too slow for my play style preferences

Yeah, I tried her other weapons but....I just can't use them, they're either too slow or to underpowered and I can't deal with that, so about....I think day 2, I changed weapon one to treaty contract and upgraded that and used bare fists in the heavy slot just for dat heavy spin barrage kick. I set it for both weapon set 1 and 2 because for some reason the game would switch between weapon sets in combat and I abhorred that...

Lemme just say A2 's spin barrage kick is broken...power, speed AND projectile?? GOOD shit. Speaking of which...I was gonna sleep in and actually catch up on my missed sleep but just talking about Nier makes me wanna play it NOW

What is the level cap? I'm level 43 and hope I can reach cap soon, also how do you unlock the rest of the jukebox music?

Ok, and alright I'm taking a break from this for an hour or two....I'm on my third or fourth playthrough and I'm A2 and now I have to do all these errands, I never liked that whole you gotta do errands to advance to the next part of the game thing. It doesn't help that Pascal's village is the hardest to navigate

ive been busy so i'm not very far yet. Maybe 4 hours in.

I do have to laugh at how Self destruct only destroys her skirt haha. Not even damaging the rest of the dress, just enough to expose that she's wearing a leotard instead of panties underneath but otherwise the rest of her outfit is totally undamaged.

You can really see how much they took from their designs in MGR though, like the way the Hud works as holograms that rotate with the camera, 2B's overall design, the combos, etc, etc.

I do like how they took a little bit from Dark Souls with the player corpses you find strewn about. Though I'm still surprised how people managed to die in these early areas. I came close to dying against the park boss but that's it, and that's more because it suddenly throws a dozen different mechanics and gameplay styles at once in a single boss fight, it was really disorienting at first.

I bought the dagger off the store guy but it turned out to be useless since I had enough to upgrade the starter sword and a single upgrade puts it leagues above your other lv 1 stuff.

Also cool that you can go back to the demo/prologue area and recover the huge greatsword you had in the beginning! I was just exploring and wandered back haha.

I love the little hack mini games 9S can do, I always look forward to just holding triangle and beating them the easy way through hacking.

I really hope they'll do DLC for this game, maybe alternative costumes, hairstyles, and maybe even the option to play as pre haircut A2, and the option to remove their eye covers would be great. Also the option to use the other yorha unit's uniforms and hairstyles would be LIT

Am I the only one disappointed in how short Automata is first time at the very least?

I beat 2Bs campaign in only 11 hours and I'm already halfway through the 9S campaign (Forest Kingdom) I'm trying to prolong this 2nd play through with side quests but... It's still going real quickly.

At least with all 3 campaigns and A2s 3 endings I'll at least get a good 40 hours from the game, but I just wasn't expecting it being that short.

Btw, is A2s campaign different from 2B and 9S campaigns? Or is it 2Bs campaign with A2 instead? I'm hoping the first especially since 9S had a unique intro mission (and hopefully late game or at least until 9S rejoins 2B)

The stories aren't really that short, I passed the game a while ago, those are more prologues to the actual story which really takes place when you be A2. And yes, her story is different than 2B and 9S, it's longer and a lot more tough. Complete 9S story and that's when shit REALLY gets started, trust me

I wouldn't prolong it, if you want to get to A2 just speed run it. It took me two days to beat 2B and only a few hours to beat 9S but mainly because I felt his scenario was less work with all the hacks and stuff from his perspective

I'm just used to campaigns in JRPGs being like 40 hours in just one play through.

Also cool to know, I was hopeful but didn't want to get too excited in case it wasn't.

Also, I like how NieR Automata does several character stories and POVs over certain others that make you pay for that stuff *cough* FFXV *cough*

Plus there's additional endings, 26 I think so you'll realistically be playing for all of them which will take a while, and then the side quests.

I don't think I'll play this for like another few hours, I'm done with it atm so I'll just take ss of the stuff I unlocked...not much a spoiler but 2B received another outfit and A2 gets her long hair...it's treated as a wig which is dumb but hey I can satisfy my long hair fetishes now. This was legit one of the best games I've ever played, I don't regret anything

The secret endings are really only miscellaneous things though, I'm not really one to 100% everything either though I did get endings W and G completely by accident... And one because I was curious.

The only endings I'm going out of my way for are the main story endings A - E I'm just glad neither need you to play Very Hard lol

Alternate 2B costume? Hmm I'm interested.
