(^ー^)v

I will be starting a new playthrough of FFXV now after all these updates have come out.
@Chapstick, how's it going for you? Are you back playing it now that you got a certain costume? XD

As I stated before, I started a new game from scratch. I'm at Chapter 3 and it reminded me why FFXV is actually a good game for the most part.

I'm not gonna kid myself though, I'll probably stop after Chapter 8 and I have to go to Altissia I'd rather not remember the part that makes XV awful.

Running around Leide's rocky desert, Duscae's lush swampland and Cleim's forests makes me so relaxed.

Yay I finally managed to get all the trophies in Episode Prompto! The only one I still had to get was the time trial snow mobile one but I managed to do it! :D

I have to agree. Final Fantasy XV is a good game...until you reach Altissia. After that point the game falls apart. They clearly ran out of time there. All the openess and care put in FFXV's world suddenly stops here and you run along FFXIII-style corridors again. And they are not even as visually stunning and interesting as in XIII. They are dark, drab and boring. The game suddenly gets all gloomy and completely hopeless, which makes me really dislike this part as well as the ending, even though it is moving. But it only moves me because I remember the good times, that I spent in the first part of the game with my bros, Prompto, Gladio and Ignis. I hate games, where all hope is lost and basically everything was for naught. I usually don't ever replay these types of games.
Because I want to get to the open world part again after the credits rolled, to tackle the dungeons and side bosses, that I didn't do in my first playthrough, I will force myself through this part and simply rush through it as quickly as I can. :/ Thank God for the walk in the park difficulty setting.

Altissa may be beautiful tbh, but the map and gondola is just not clear enough and too confusing and it took me too long to find Lee- I mean Weskham, glad i wasn't the only one.

Altissia is the saddest excuse of a city that I know of in an (until that point at least) open world game. It's all smoke and mirror and just a pretty facade. It's actually very small, incredibly convoluted in its layout, so that it indeed is a nightmare to navigate, there is hardly anything to do and it is heavily restricted. There are invisible walls everywhere. At least those invisible walls they could have distributed more wisely and unsuspiciously. It is a city on multiple islands and parted by canals after all. But no, there are invisible walls in the middle of an island and you actually can cross some canals, but then that bridge leads to a solid wall on the other side of that canal. Just don't add a bridge if you are not supposed to get to the other side! D: Make the canal wide enough, so that it looks as if you need a gondola. A gondola that never comes or a gondolier, who tells you he is on break. There, the illusion is perfect, lol.

Wow, now the appeal of a new playthrough totally evaporated again... :/

DISSIDIA ARCADE UPDATE:

A new update stream goes live on July 3, with information about the national tournament in Japan as well as an update for the game on July 12.

A character reveal is most likely, and based on process of elimination regarding the original roster, all signs point to Cloud of Darkness, Golbez, or Ultimecia.

... Okay well out of the choice of those three characters I'm hoping for Ultimecia, I'm performing the blood ritual right now for her. xoxo

Seriously though why has Yuna not been revealed yet? She's a hugely popular protagonist and yet still no reveal? Same with Noctis since we know he's in the game, I wonder what he'll look like? And I'm pretty sure Tifa was in a previous game so I wonder If she'll be in this.

As of right now it feels like I'm forcing myself to play it. Mostly because getting anywhere on the map without fast travel feels like it takes forever (getting to mineral deposits/ingredient spots or hunt locations) which I'm sure will get better when I unlock chocobos. Other problem is I don't particularly like any of the characters except Ignis so far. I'm at the point where the king just died and you come back to the hammerhead and Cid says he can upgrade your weapons bc he's bored so that might change since it's still early.

Tbh the part I enjoy most is the end of the day bc I like looking through the pics Prompto took.

If we truly had to think for this, there are actual complications (someone on Dissidia forums brought this up which makes sense). The factor that kicks in is that there are two Yuna (literally) and getting the development team to stick to one. We have FFX Yuna, who's essentially not a main character with considerable factors that she does plays an extreme role in the game. Then you have FFX-2 Yuna, where she plays the role as the main character here that's an entirely different game and not a mothership title to the series. Most games (especially this one) will have a character to represent that title. The question is which Yuna will the game represent. Mind you that Yuna from Dissidia 012 is from FFX simply because FFX is the main titled on the mothership spree and the summoning mechanic were mostly passive skills that plays during the actual match while she retains summons as a movekit.

Ever since they announced the summon mechanic for Dissidia this partially eliminates the summoner role of Day 1 Yuna in terms of combat, so we are looking at marbles clashing into each other on trying to fit in. What they could do is add FFX-2 Yuna, but under the FFX titled name and keeping the logo of FFX-2 in a bestiary on "where" exactly do they come from.

It's why I agree that characters such as Paine will have a drastic hard time getting in unless Square is feeling generous to include party characters from a game that's not even a main title. It's like breaking barriers into other small barriers. I suppose the end case here is if they deem it profitable to do it.

I know I'm being repetitive, but I definitely don't see how the Dissidia summon mechanic eliminates FFX Yuna, pretty sure she will be in.
Yuna's aeons look completely different and have a complete different role from the "standard" summons in Dissidia.
Let's say Yuna attacks with Shiva while the Dissidia Shiva is summoned : Yuna's looks different (it's smaller), it's just a flashy magic attack that disappears a few seconds after and not an actual summon that stays on the field for an amount of time.
Also, pretty sure Tifa will be in it too, I mean.... weren't all the characters from Duodecim 012 pretty much confirmed?
Anyway, I think the next reveal will be Ultimecia too.

As for FFXV, I think 2 playthroughs are enough for me lol.
Altissia (and the following chapters) was definitely a disappointment, though I still appreciate the meticulosity they had in reproducing the streets of Venice with their colored (and cracked) buildings, the bridges.... literally everything execept for monuments and stuff.
They could have used gondolas to travel across the different islands instead of different points of the same one, you don't sacrifice much time by walking/running anyway, I only used the gondola to get to Weskham lol. Wish it was bigger and that you could actually do something there outside of few hunts. Totomostro is trash.
Such wasted potential.... Lestallum at least had more hunts and side quests, thus more reasons to go back there.

Then you are still very early on in the game, basically the tutorial area. You will soon reach Duscae and then the map finally opens up. More quests, more interaction with the party and the first (and unfortunately only) real city of the game.
You will also be surprised how much better Duscae looks in the final game compared to Episode Duscae. Duscae looked drab, empty and unfinished in the demo...and that terrible image quality. Since you too own the Pro now, you are in for a treat. :)
The chocobo questline is also one of the best there is in the game, so get the chocobos right away. Prompto will whine all the time if you don't lol.

She will be in, this is still the vanilla version. It still doesn't determine exactly which Yuna it will be. Aeons are not off the bookmarks to summons because it's no different from Espers being apart from Guardian Forces due to it all entirely labeled as summons.

There is many contradictions to the case of how things can work and the logic behind such things. When you look at FFX Yuna's entire gameplay within the main title, her movement and combat doesn't hard focus on any close activities unless you convert Yuna to some sort of mage, but then you'd have to find a suitable approach on it that is vastly different from her original since her base character is a summoner. The key point here is that her approach to the game revolves around that concept. Dissidia 012 gets a huge pass for this due to the fact that the abilities of summons are considered passive and she can temporary convert her summons into combinations of frontal attacks. There's even a Valefor passive summon but yet she can bring out attacks based off that at the same time due to the actual summon not being a thing in Dissidia (separating the entities). Square could break that logic by actually doing what you mentioned, but the possibility isn't high because it's breaking things on a visual scale and understanding. They "can" do it. It's not a guaranteed though for genuine reasons.

So what can they do at this point? well, we won't know until Square actually brings the character out, but people should not be surprised for it being FFX-2 Yuna instead for multiple reasons. Like most people, I prefer FFX Yuna simply because it's a overall better character in development.

Yeah that's still really early on in the game, It picks up more as you go on and get into Duscae. Hopefully you'll enjoy it more as the story continues.

And on Yuna yeah I'm not sure which one of her they'd go with but I still think It will be strange if she's not in the game since she's such a big character in FF. I think she could have some parts from both games as her moveset like guns and the magic.

I've never played FF8 but isn't Rinoa pretty popular? Maybe she'll be playable too. In fact there's so many of the female characters that I want playable, Queen Fran, Serah , Yuna , Rikku , Paine , Lulu , Ashe etc. I hope they all make it. I guess We'll just have to hope though. ( But I want Fran the most )
