    Funny how Helena has gone from an overexposed top tier to an underexposed "wait, how do I fight this character again?" mid tier, fought my 2nd Helena ever today and this is exactly how I felt lol
    I rejoice getting hit with panic Break blows, cause that just means the next time I stun you, you're one wrong guess away from eating a fatal stun combo that does 110+ pts of unbreakable dmg, thnx :]

    It's weird because sometimes if I think lowly of someone, I'll do it because I don't need it to win but then I could easily find myself against a good opponent and want a breather but it's w/e to me mostly. Most games with typical supers have slight damage scaling when done with a particular set of hits but raw it should do a fair amount. Not incl. Into hazards which don't scale.
    Watching the Pokemon Sword and Sheild trailer, getting sum serious Zelda BotW vibes from the overworld, if it's even half as explorative as that game, im sold

    Nope, never even owned a portable (except a Switch if you want to count that). Always been on the console, and the last Nintendo platform I owned before Switch was an N64 which was way back during it's release and never bought any Pokemon for it either lol.

    The closest to getting near Pokemon was watching my cousin play the games since he's a huge Pokemon fan (posters, merchandise etc.)

    I highly doubt the exploration is anywhere near the scale and depth of BotW. Looks like some areas are just huge for the sake of being huge (because many fans wanted that). It all looks very barren, empty and ugly though.

    man, y'all harsh, all i know is this is the first time in years im actually looking forward to a new pokemon game, Crystal was the last one I cared for and everything since has been annoying gimmicks and features I didn't care for, this looks decisively scaled back and it even adds MMO elements, which is something i've wanted for years, so im hype
    finally caved in and bought a GameCube controller and a converter for smash ultimate, and it feels great to play on optimal hardware, shame the whole thing cost me 65 bux :(

    it's weird but i like it, that's my 6 word review

    but honestly as someone who didn't grow up with a gamecube and has no history with the controller, it is a weirdly put together apparatus, but I already prefer it over joy cons and the pro controller, mainly cause of the gated D pad (extra precision which is a must in smash) and the big A button that i can get consistent short hops on
    Ferry looks like my type of character in Grandblue versus, but she's such unadulterated fetish fuel that everyone is gonna play her and everyone will learn how to play against her very quickly
    How would you feel if all throws in DOA were breakable except for grapplers who would have access to true unbreakable command grabs?

    I also agree that DOA should stop trying to be so different from other fighting games because it makes it more difficult to get players from other FG's into DOA because they have to leave their comfort zone way too much.

    I don't mind DOA being unique, heck it's uniqueness is the reason why I prefer it over most other fg's, but the way it gives every single character a plethora of unbreakable command grabs is one area im kinda :/ about
    Anyone else notice how Kasumi's 4p2k has mad pushback on block? enough to make easy 5 frame punishes whiff reliably?

    Kasumi players spacing moves to make them safe? yeah right

    but f'real though it seems like if i don't mash out that 5 frame punish immediately Kasumi pulls back so far that the punish will whiff even if she's still recovering, maybe my characters just have short range 2T's, but 1T and 3T have enough range to punish just fine, but since they're slower it's easier to mess up the timing

    I know the meme in the fgc is "after 25 you can't rely on your reactions in fighting games anymore lol", but honestly I feel like my reactions are better now than they were when I was in my teens

    Here's the thing about that, whose to say that those reactions are (Strictly talking fgs here) any well invested on? Like I always felt like then, I might have been reacting to bait tactics more. Overcommitment. I can say from experience it doesn't always work out to react super by subtle movement. We can choose to react to big whiffed stuff now better perhaps. Great at reacting with crush moves personally.
    Kitana has a combo in MK11 where if she does it on p2 side, she's +10, but if she does on p1 side, it's -6, classic NRS nonsense, i luv it lol

    They nerfed continuous walk speed (holding a certain direction such as 7/9). Basically the speed decreases the longer you hold that direction and decreases even more up close.

    Why they did this? I have no idea, it's as if TN is promoting up close abare games at all times.

    MK11 was fun but i don't see myself playing it for the long term, a MK with gimped movement and limited combos is not an MK I wanna play for long
