A leak that has said to be true but there's no concrete evidence of. Anyway I have to disagree with you about the fact that it'll look "worse" than Tekken 7 that's just speculation, Tekken doesn't really look that good for a fighter in my opinion. Doa is what ? 5 years old now and it still looks miles better than tekken, tekken only has nice muscle definition but that's it. SC6 will probably look better than Tekken and look less shiny.Let's talk about the rumored/leaked upcoming Soul Calibur 6!
I know many, including me of course, are really excited to finally see SC in full current generation graphics glory. The fact that the game also is rumored to appear on Switch is a reason to be a bit worried though. There is the possibility that a Switch version could graphically drag the PS4/PC versions down. These are possible outcomes that I see:
1) PS4/PC will get fully optimized versions, the Switch version will have to be visually downgraded.
2) PS4/PC will get fully optimized versions and the Switch will get a fully optimized version as well. They basically build 2 versions of the game.
3) The Switch will get a fully optimized version, the PS4/PC versions are visually upgraded.
Possibility 1 is probably the least likely, because severely downgrading a game's visuals is way more difficult, often leading to lots of other problems, than upgrading visuals for a game. Something we have to keep in mind is that Soul Calibur 6 would be a 60fps game on PS4/PC and on Switch. The easiest way to downgrade games in the past for the Switch, for example its Doom, Wolfenstein 2 and Sonic Forces versions, was just slashing the 60fps framerate in half, additionally they had to reduce the resolution and graphical settings had to be lowered as well.
For a fighting game you can't just slash the framerate in half though. It needs to stay 60fps also on Switch. That means they would have to downgrade the graphical settings and the resolution even more. They game would frankly end up looking like shit in that case.
The best solution would be to build two versions of the game, which is possibility 2. Square Enix is doing that for Dragon Quest XI right now. There we have a fully optimized PS4 version, a fully optimized 3DS version and we will get a fully optimized Switch version, which is still in the works and hasn't been shown yet. This would be the best outcome for a beautiful Soul Calibur 6 on all platforms. That however is very costly and time consuming. Will Namco really do that? :/
Possibility number 3 is imo unfortunately the most likely outcome. A fully optimized version for Switch will be built (not looking much better than SC4 or SC5) and on PS4/PC they will just bump up graphical settings and the resolution. In that case SC 6 will probably end up looking worse than Tekken 7 and about as good as DOA5 5 Last Round on PS4 and PC.
Tekken lacks a lot in the graphics department in my opinion, tekken's graphics are good when it comes to muscle definition and making attractive male characters ( which what DOA lacks) I always found SC good with both male and female designs since they don't go to extremes with both sexes.@King Anubis, you actually don't disagree with me at all. I also don't think that Tekken 7 is a particularly good looking game and, yes, even the old Dead or Alive 5 Last Round looks better than it in some regards, for example the character modelling.

Dunno what yall smokin Tekken 7 looks great and shits on DOA5 graphically
You really wanna compare a tekken game that has been released in June to a game that's already 5 years old ? Compare the tekken games that released the same year as doa games and then compare them because comparing a 5 year old game with a game Of 6 months old is just wrong. Of course tekken 7 shits on DOA at the moment, look at the technology we have now and look at the technology we had in 2012, technology has evolved in these past 5 years. DOA 6 will probably look better than tekken.Dunno what yall smokin Tekken 7 looks great and shits on DOA5 graphically with far better lighting, shadows, environment and character textures, and a slew of extra effects not found in DOA.
@DontForkWitMe aside from the high resolution, which is of course always nice, those pics are imo not very flattering. :/

Yet they look better than DOA5 which is the entire point of why i posted them, I know its the IN thing here for DOA players to shit on Tekken but to straight up lie about its graphical quality to the point where claiming it looks awful and DOA looks so much better is complete BS, Hell DOA4 still is a better looking game than DOA5 as far as pure overall visuals go.
...okay yeah, that's true.Hell DOA4 still is a better looking game than DOA5 as far as pure overall visuals go.
They never improved the graphics of DOA though, they just made a next gen console version with a few new stages and characters. It's still a game from 2012Yet they look better than DOA5 which is the entire point of why i posted them, I know its the IN thing here for DOA players to shit on Tekken but to straight up lie about its graphical quality to the point where claiming it looks awful and DOA looks so much better is complete BS, Hell DOA4 still is a better looking game than DOA5 as far as pure overall visuals go.
You do realize the games been out since 2015 in arcades which is around the same time DOA5LR released on current gen systems so technically they are on par release-wise. TN had vastly superior hardware to work with and yet all they added over last gen versions are sparks, a higher res, and slightly altered titty physics not to mention half assing the PC port and basing it off the PS3 version.
