Speaking of bounds, in that match with Kasumi against Helena wtf happened at 0:52? I never remember a failed followup causing that animation.

I heard they nerfed Lisa's NH 9K, can't believe they nerfed the CH version too... she's so done lol

Also can't believe they're still using that confusing color scheme for tag lifebar, you can't even tell how much damage anything is doing.

But I'm happy to see they brought in some awesome new stuns from VF, Pai better get some better combos out of it!

BTW, how bad is it that the only source of information about 5U's gameplay comes from random Japanese players and not TN? Meanwhile they've tweeted about boob mousepads for the 100th time. I gotta wonder what the future holds in store for DOA

9K just beat a mid wake up kick cleanly. Still guarantees a launcher.

A "bound" is a move that looks like it should cause the opponent to fall to the ground but if performed correctly brings them back up and allows you to continue a combo. They are synonymous with the term "ground bounce". Jacky's bound in particular looks different than the others in DOA 5 but it's functionally the same.

This video is a good example. Do you see how at 1:07 Kasumi performs a kick that causes Hayate to bounce off the ground? That's a bound. Also don't confuse this with a force tech where an opponent was already on the ground and you perform an attack that makes them stand up.

By the way that video is a good indicator like we were talking about in the other thread that Jacky is definitely on the "watch out" list in this game. Brutal. lol

Really thanks for the explanation ;) Surely Jacky's move didn't seem me a ground bounce because effectively it's not a "bounce" XD, also if like you say technically the working is the same.

It's automatic but absolute shit compared to VF5FS version. Maybe I'll post about it later in Jacky forum

I'm really curious to know the reasons for it.

I am seeing the potential in this game and I like what I see. Hopefully it lives up to the Ultimate moniker. I am confused to why anyone would think the VF characters (in DOA) would play exactly like their VF5FS counter parts. The differences between the two games would never allow it. It is best to look for Doa5U exclusive setups that will work best for your character.

@1:53 of Akira/Kasumi vs. Lisa/Jacky match, it looks like Jacky's neutral parry is in the game. Also, the bounds from VF5FS are in too?!

Oh. My. GOD!

I have to admit, the bounds from Final Showdown (along with some of Jacky's combos) translated really well in DOA5 Ultimate.

He parries when he's in neutral state. So just idling around will automatically parry.

It shouldn't affect any punches or kicks. I shouldn't be rewarded because I'm derping.

I imagine it came into the fact that you're risking being hit by anything else for standing idle.

I haven't heard anything of there being any sort of notation change to it either, but I'd imagine it's even more stupid as since it's a parry for standing idle then being thrown while idle means free hi-counter throw damage.
