He has actual faults in DOA5. It's definitely an adjustment for DOA2, 3 and 4 Hayabusa players.
It sounds like you don't have a point.
My point is that the "weaknesses" you speak of are that his strike potential is actually fairly weak, moreso than other grapplers who are in fact faster and have better mix-ups (lIsa, for example). Thus, he's actually much closer to a grappler than the other ninja characters, and unless TN changes him back, he should be treated as such.
Thus, it's logical that Ryu's Izunas should be exceptionally powerful, given that he lacks the strike power of many others (Leon and seemingly Rachel), as well as the OH capabilities and large chain throw damage most grapplers can opt for.

I'm just saying that you're having trouble using a fair(er) version of an always top tier character.
I'm not really sure we can assess much of Rachel's capabilities at this point.

Who said I'm having trouble?

I just said said he has shitty mix-ups and doesn't posses the full throw/OH power of true grapplers, which is true.

You're not really saying anything.

He has most comboable air throw in the game. High damage holds and throws. Access to ceilings with izunas. Mobility and range that grapplers don't have. etc. He's a jack of all trades type of character.

All great. Changes nothing what I've said.
You seem to have deluded yourself into thinking at some point I said he was low tier and had no strengths or something.

Mobility and range that grapplers don't have. etc.
Every one of his mid-to-long range options is easily side-steppable and most are easily interrupted because of their speed and random crush properties. His range game is not as great as people claim it is.

He's a jack of all trades type of character.
Actually, he's the opposite. A highly specialized character who gets maximum pay-off for proper reads but has to read precisely and correctly because each of his options will only beat out specified actions by the opponent.

Anyway, I'll stop clogging up this thread because it's about Rachel. A mod can feel free to delete all this junk and clean up the thread. If you want to be schooled on Ryu, take it elsewhere.
