Rachel General Discussion

So basically your argument is: "Accept the game as it is, even if you think it's balanced horribly. But when I think it's balanced bad (ie: they stop making my character OP easy mode), I will cut and run and fail to adapt like I've been telling everyone else to do."

Nice logic.

You people and your OP non-sense, whatever.

Oh, this lovely "argument." If Rachel is nerfed to be on par with the rest of cast, I hope you, d3v and the others plan on adapting and not voicing a pip of concern.
Actually, I'm working on Leon right now, and planning to come back to Rach when this happens.

Fighting people who can't figure out the blender is too easy. It's like a chore that does nothing to improve my holding ability.

Against people who can consistently escape, Rachel doesn't feel OP at all. But, I can probably count the number of those people on my fingers.

I am only worried that the stigma will stick after the patch.
Mai waifu doesn't deserve this.

These idiots not being able to figure her out is all on them. If they need her patched so desperately they're merely garbage, plain and simple.

Brute I don't understand why you're always campaigning for nerfs instead of buffs
Because you can't have highs without lows. Yin-yang concept. If something has strength, it should also have weakness. These should counter-balance each other in such a way that low-risk moves result in low payout, and high-risk moves result in high payout. No one wants an i11 unholdable mid kick sit-down stun that's neutral on block and crushes highs because it has no weakness to counter-balance it's strength (extreme hypothetical to easily illustrate point). A move like Rachel's 2K FT is very easy to set-up from most anything she does, it gives her insane pressure and has very, very little risk involved. I and some others feel like this move disproportionally weighs what should be carefully considered pros and cons. Currently, it's low-risk, high-reward, which breaks the general system that if you want a high reward, you must take a high risk performing it or trying to set it up at some point in time.

I actually do ask for buffs when the situation is flipped and a move or character has low reward for high risk. It's just that no one pays attention then and they only turn their head when it's someone asking for "nerfs." Selective listening, I suppose.

I'd rather they nerf everything she has EXCEPT 2K stomp. Keep her niche, or she'll just be another Bass.

Well, Bass' floor throw was kinda one of his big, signature things.
And no, they're quite different. Rachel has more efficient string mix-ups, lows/pokes and general safety, while Bass takes the raw OH/throw damage to 11.

How to beat Rachel: Pick Christie. That is all.

Seriously. Even scrub Christies walk over me like I've never played DOA before.

Well, I can't really say much so I'm just going to base this videos I've seen and things I heard......

Rachel doesn't really need nerfs like hell. The only thing that actually NEEDS nerfs is the + on a whiffed 2k. But what does my opinion mean to you guys anyway? I also use an "OP" character aka Ms. Bryant. :sarah:

I'm called a scrub by many people, but I don't enjoy walking over them. Goes against my nature.
