This isn't a 'walk on in' event. In order to get access you have to be an employee of a company in the industry or pay $1000 for the entry ticket alone.

Not even the $1000 will get you in. It's either you have to be working for a game company, or be working for IGN or another gaming magazine to get in. None of the general public is allowed entry. You could throw all the money you want at the people at the front desk; you won't get in.

Still waiting for the IGN stream url. I want to see if I can get it put in as an event on the event list with the stream so that it will broadcast on the sidebar at the front page.

We might get a peak of DOA5 in both Microsoft and Sony's conferences when they roll the third party software demo reel.

Why doesn't TN ask the community, or vote on who we want to send instead of picking favorites?

Because we'd just pick favorites as well for the wrong reasons. I really wish TN would branch out a bit more, but they group going obviously aren't going to sabotage the game.

Aright, so the DOA5 Stream will start 9:00am in my Central Time Zone and 7:00am in PDT.

Cool beans, I'm staying awake for this, also, wish we would of seen the 2 new character reveals before the actual Tournament date, but hey, that just means MORE DOA. ^_-

I do understand your frustrations, but I have done everything I can to add things to the event that will make the community happy. Getting Rikuto on commentary was one of those things. And trust me when I say the surprises are good ones. They come directly from myself and Silent Legend.

Also, when you look at myself, Rikuto, Manny, Vanessa, sWooZie, Chosen1 and Kayane, which of those people do you want detailed gameplay info from?

If we could fly out 20 people from this site, we would have. However, that's simply not feasible. Was it a surprise to you that DOA5 will be playable at E3? I don't think so. You could've made arrangements to be at E3 long before this event was announced.

As I said, there will be opportunities for people to play at other events. In addition, Rikuto will get play time on the broadcast, he just won't be in the tournament at this juncture.

The tournament in question has not yet been officially announced because the location and date are not yet confirmed. As soon as those are locked in place, an announcement will be made. I expect that to happen in June with at least 6-8 weeks to make travel arrangements.

You would skip DOA5 because Manny and crew were invited to E3? As I said, I understand your frustration (and actually expected such a reaction), but it's nothing like 2006 and that's a big over dramatic. Morris was running things back in 2006 and that's why Manny and crew were involved in the first place. Morris is not involved in this. I get to make some calls here and insure the community has a voice.

Trust me when I say that everything I can do for the community is being done. You're going to get a lot of info on DOA5 coming out of this event and you'll have insightful commentary.

People who play other fighting games at a competitive level will be playing DOA5. I cannot provide details, but Team Ninja wants the opinions of non-DOA players. You don't have to worry about that.

Also, look at Evo. You have a bunch of Capcom players, a few Soul Calibur players and a handful of VF players. Do you really think DOA5 would get a fair shot or even proper attention at that event? I'll be at Evo, and if DOA5 was there, I probably wouldn't play it because I'd be too busy playing SC5 and VF5, focusing on the tournament. I wouldn't have time to properly sit down and play DOA5 and provide intelligent feedback.

The average Evo attendee would sit down for 2 minutes to play DOA5 and it would end up looking a lot like this:

Keep in mind that the E3 build played on the broadcast may not be all that's shown of DOA5 at E3. Announcements could easily be made that have nothing to do with the E3 build. This happens all the time at E3.

Although I know this falls largely on deaf ears, for the record let me say again Morris NEVER was "running things" back in 2006. Direct-TV's league was run by their own organization, CGS, now defunct.

I'm honored (in an "infamous" sort of way) by this mythology but it's a vast overstatement on my or any community representatives influence.

Nice to see the community is lively as ever though! :)

For the record as well, Manny is the only one in the player group even remotely from "Texas". CA and FL are a good ways from Texas. ;)

Fun stuff though!

Sony ran clips of DOA5, Microsoft didn't (unless I blinked and missed). I guess Microsoft is too busy pushing COD, Halo, Gears, and Kinect stuff to care about the "little fighting game people".

Yes, Microsoft did nothing but show an okay Halo 4 clip, a lackluster Gears Of War trailer, snooze fest Kinect, and typical 3rd Party support; while Sony hits hard with stellar Franchises, jaw dropping new IPs, 1 yr PlayStation Plus for all attending members, free full PS3 games for those members, a better showing of Assassin Creed 3, etc...Watch_Dogs looks awesome btw, almost Pre-Next Gen...

Now DOA5 is about to step to our front doors and shit, mine is already open.

The stream goes live at noon (although it technically doesn't start until 12:30). It's basically E3 exhibit hall hours. The exhibit hall doesn't open until noon today.
