For some reason, I actually didn't have that setting set. I run barebones.

Still, thanks for adding the new folks.

I don't thank you. Those characters should be banned if they are paid DLC for retail version.

I don't see why people thought that they'd be free in the first place.
Also, how would the DOC discriminate between a Core Fighters game and a retail disc to determine whether or not you pay?

Thanks for the added options ;)

Sorry but what is the relationship between the ban of the characters and the status of the members? Maybe because I don't partecipate to the offline tournaments I haven't the right to say what is my main character?

I don't see what any of that talk has to do with your Main Character option setting on this forum...
As far as I know, this web site is meant for competitive DOA players. Paid DLC characters should be banned in tournaments like other fighting games. So nobody should have those DLC chars as main.

Right, but this doesnt' mean that everyone play necessarily in official tournaments. I read often the most technical sections of the site (offline because I know that I'm not able to give an active contribute posting something there), just because I can find players that know pretty well the game. With this I haven't anyway the skills and the means for partecipating to a tournament.

Also regarding to:

FSD is one of the most important voices of western DOA competitive community. Things like this are signal of easy acceptance of this TN decision instead of showing disappointmet. Despite it likely was a @Mr. Wah personal decision, this site it no longer his voice only.

Paid dlc chars are not a new thing, the only game I can think of where dlc chars are free is TTT2.

TTT2, the biggest competitity comunity for a 3D fighting game: an example to follow.

The DLC characters of TTT2 were free because actually already included on disc. You had already paid for them buying the game, they weren't real "additions".

It's prefectly ordinary to pay for a true addition to the game, especially if related to the gameplay side, so a character or a stage in the case of the interactive ones of DoA (that instead are released for free). Also, 5,99$/€ could be considered slighty overpriced, but by the way I consider much more worse in proportion to pay 1.99$/€ for a single outfit...

Despite being or not a "real" addition:

I don't think TN really improvise chars development, so they have been priced 5U higher at begining. Because I compete in DOA5U, not in a price variable title.

In adition, TN credibility drops down, which also doesn't help the game reputation. I don't mind the money, I mind negative impact in game reputation in competitive fighting games community, which has been hard to rise and still needs help.

Of all the things the game will have less credibility for, paid dlc chars is not one of them, considering capcom does it as well.

I admit that I'm not an expert of fighting games and so I don't know if other series release or less free "real" DLC characters, but honestly I don't see like this can hurt the credibility of the DoA5U.

Despite being or not a "real" addition:

I understood, by the way you said that TTT2 was the example to follow when actually NAMCO didn't make anything really different.
