Once again I implore everyone to play ngds, I can't say this enough, but it must be on the original handheld, it's worth the investment.

Marbus was kinda weird and glitchy when they recycled him in NGS2 as well, honestly. Only one I really enjoyed him in was Black.

I honestly don't want to choose between NG3RE and NG2 because both have horrible boss fights, but at least NG2's bosses were kinda cool in their design and atmosphere. You fought them in cool locations, they had cool boss themes and their designs were often good, though not always (*cough* Volf *cough*).

NG3RE's are lame and annoying. Obaba felt like a poor God of War wannabe, the robot spiders are just dumb, Cliff is tedious, Canna is ridiculous, the Fiend Ryus got hella-ridiculous in recent iterations... Regent had cool music, but was annoying to actually fight (running in circles like a retard). Don't get me started on that fucking Helicopter.

The biggest issue I have is the ability most bosses have to choose when you can hit them. The Regent is probably the worst offender. They are basically invincible until an arbitrary event happens somewhere deep within the game engine to allow a moment of vulnerability. No hitstun either on most attacks.

I remember when I first went through my first very hard run in NGO i was so scared to face the tank/helicopter battle

^Basically this. This issue was essentially non-existent in NG1, but when NG2 rolled around, it began. Wasn't too bad then, though. It mostly appeared on wonky bosses like the Greater Fiends. Then NG3 rolls around and it basically felt like the whole game was just prancing around waiting until an enemy did something stupid to become vulnerable for a brief moment.

I think in NG2 the wolves didnt even have vulnerable moments and no hit stun, they would just attack and grab you through your attacks lol XD

I make myself rage less [more?] by imagining the game playing co-op against me. One part of the game is constantly Rachel Spinning (Sigma 2 players will understand) and the other part chooses when to attack.

Blade of Nirriti would lift 'em up, so you at least had that.

Hahah!
Nice analogy.

I dont know shit about the enemies aside from the greater fiends, all i play in ngs2 is Master 3 trial with bota and DS lol XD

We have to give some credit to Hayashi though, NGS2 fixed the vulnerability and hit stun on bosses

Someone explain the rachel spinning thing?
To further elaborate on Brute's post, if you used Rachel and spun the camera just right while using her dodge constantly she was completely invincible. It was used in co-op to isolate bosses in mutli-boss fights to make things easier and less "How did this make it through testing?!"
