So which version is everyone all getting

Dont get it for PS3, get it For Xbox360. Ps3 Lags a lot more than the 360 version.

Look, you prefer the 360, we get it. There's nothing wrong with having a console preference. However, the PS3 does not "lag a lot more than the 360", and you have no idea which console DOA5 will play better on. Please stop spouting fanboy-like statements that have no factual basis.

Im not a fanboy, im just stating facts. I play Tekken 6 on my 360 not much lag, play it on my friends PS3 and it lags more than the 360 example (from a testimony) :

Myth. The only games that lag on the PS3 are Capcom games with the XBox 360 as the lead console. Games with the PS3 as the lead console tend to be better than the 360 version (e.g. Tekken 6 which lagged on the 360).

And no, before you ask, I'm from Tech Talk so I know (because we've broken down and tested this shizz before). If you feel that there's lag on T6 on the PS3, check your setup. The games have been tested on both in identical, lagless (non HDMI) setups and it's been proven that T6 has a couple of frames of input lag on the 360.

But doesn't PS3 have to have perfect connection to even receive good connection?

He's not referring to system/screen delay, he's referring to network connectivity between each online service.

For me, my experience has been that I've had better connections with Xbox LIVE than PSN. However, the majority of that is due to either the people I'm connecting to or router setups.

A lot of PS3's bad rap comes from most people running wireless connections, honestly. I've played some games on PS3 that were flawless. I have also had the experience where a PS3 game seems laggier than its 360 counterpart. These things are almost always more about perception than anything else.

You don't seem to have a grasp of how game development works or what a lead platform is. If this Team Ninja's previous work is anything to go off of, the PS3 version will likely be the better version of the game:

So I should change my perception to the ideology that the vast majority of PS3 owners are some seriously poor bastards that can't afford decent internet?

This. I think if PS3 had to pay for you to use online like the 360....People would go for the 360 no doubt. But since they feel they don't have to pay...they feel like they are better than 360 users. And one day those spoiled brats will end up having to pay for online one day. On top of the fact they had that Blackout LMAO!

I was actually being serious. Doesn't make playing on the platform any more desirable though. If the majority of connections are going to be shitty, they are going to be shitty, regardless of the reason.

For convenience reasons I really would prefer to be playing on the PS3 since it's easiest to get used to just one controller... but that fucking connection, oy...

It's a fighting game... online doesn't really matter as much as in other genre's.

Look at KoFXIII. Horrible netcode but still the most hype tournament at EVO.

And still one of the more underplayed games in general... whether or not they happen to be loud is another issue... even DOA 4 was loud. Guarantee you'd have more people playing it if the online play didn't suck.

Here's the facts, most people don't live in tournament hubs and also don't feel like traveling long distances to play with the same people every weekend. For casual play, online is pretty much a requirement in the modern age. Good netcode goes hand in hand with that.

The vast majority of the time you spend getting better at a fighting game is not during tournament play either, its through casuals. To level up, continuous exposure to good-quality casuals are a requirement. Therefore to level up to your fullest potential, online play is also a requirement..... unless you live in a tournament hub which, as we've covered, most people do not. And it's the kind of closed minded thinking of "fuck online, long live the imaginary arcade" that's what keeps the FGC as small as it is.

And as the PS3 has apparently god awful online connectivity (or at least it's owners all appear to)... well you can see how this is all connected.

But...it doesn't. I've been playing SC on ps3 the past couple months in preparation for EVO.

Awesome netcode.

Same with VF.

This is just doing random ranking matches for the most part. My experience in both games has been equal on both consoles.

This is just silly logic. You say you're not a fanboy, but all of these posts sure make you sound like one.

You're still overstating the importance of online. If you want to take the game to the next level, by which I mean majors and hopefully EVO, then people are going to have to go out and play the game. If Wiz and co. actually see that people are coming out to play between Sept. and February, then this game might actually get to the main stage at Vegas.

I mean, sure online is important, but you can only go so far to build a competitive base on it. I mean, look at all the finalists this year, they all came from strong local offline scenes, from events like WNF or The Runback, or local arcades or FGTV.
