No surprise. DOA5 was trying to become more Tekken-like since the beginning.
i still can't get over how much I liked the art for Lili in Digimon.
Also, that dress would be nice for Marie.

Well if that is the case, then which TK girl do you think they'd model after? I'd like Zafina or Katarina.

Ok don't textually punch me; I know that someone already brought up the Fatal Frame V characters... but after playing the game it does seem like a slight possibility... very distant but I feel anxious that one of those characters may be introduced in Last Round. Which would bug me. Maybe that's part of the contract. Or maybe it was in the contract that FFV use DOA5's engine and in return Ayane make an appearance in FFV to promote DOA; tat for tit.
But think of it: It would be so easy to import these fatal frame characters. That's the scariest part. All they have to do is "rework it." And some of the TN employees went to work on the FFV. The more I type it the more I'm TERRIFIED they'll show up. Is it ironic that I'm this afraid of the heroine of a horror game?
And if not one of the protagonists... one of the "sexy" ghosts may be put in. Say what you want but you know it could happen. It's just RANDOM enough. I've never been more scared in my life; and it has nothing directly to do with FFV!
I'm literally just trying to find ways that TN's gonna punk me. You know when the new characters are revealed it's gonna feel like:
Don't misunderstand, I'm not even mad about it. I just know it's gonna happen. I'm gonna laugh when it does. I'm not gonna be upset. Because I've been preparing myself. And if I can help anyone else prepare for this... then I will have done my job.
In all seriousness, I really really really want a new, fresh male and female character. I don't want any lazy throwbacks but a part of me already knows... there's a good chance we'll get at least one (I can't remember if they told us yet or not). If not from the DOA series.. it might just come from FFV. BEWARE the obnoxious Sodden Raven.

Who in that game doesn't have dark hair though? The only character I can think of is that 6 yr old ghost... and that's highly unlikely.

@lotr9690 Fatal Frame is an exclusive for Wii-U, while DoA5LR is an exclusive for Xbox and PS: even if TN worked in Fatal Frame, I seriously doubt that we will see a such important crossover between the two series, overall because theoretically the players of one could never have played to the other game.
If something, I believe much more easy from TN to rework characters from Razor's Edge if they plan to add characters from another series in DoA5 (an action game setted in the same universe of DoA, with the rights owned from TN and where the players of one series very likely know and are more hyped for the ones of the other).
In addition, TN hinted more times like the new female character is an original one where the team worked on and ended to be fond of: honestly I don't think that the heroines of Fatal Frame were created from TN, neither they seem to not own brunette hair and overall TN already foreshadowed like the new girl will be busty, another physical characteristic that is not present in the three main girls of the last FF.

Well since the male happens to be Raidou, I wonder who the new female will be...

Logically it wouldn't make sense for a FF cast member. That was kind of my worry though haha. I think it was because I spent some time playing it and then the thought consumed me: what if they do? But time away from FFV has calmed me down -- and your post really helped put an end to that. Now I'm looking forward to the reveal
Still probably gonna feel like "GOTCHA!" though haha

@lotr9690 Team NINJA made clear how the new girl is a character that they created from scratch, there is no reason to think that she is a guest character or a previous NPC, so don't worry XD
More you have also to consider how the females are the most popular characters and one of the strong points of the series: with the release of Ultimate they pointed everything on the "guests" of Ninja Gaiden as Rachel and the overpopular Momiji, but with Last Round from a marketing point I see logical to think that they will go for a new female character, able to get the focus of everyone (overall being Last Round an update apparently inferior to Ultimate for contents, at least without the future DLC that more or less TN already confirmed will come).
Finally Hayashi even talked how the team was busy with the creation of the character and ended to be fond of her, something that seems just to foreshadow a recent working on a character not previously created before and overall not from different people (how would be the concept designs behind the Fatal Frame female main characters).
EDIT: So far I would say that the best hypothesis that we can do on the new female character is that she will be the opposite of the addition of Radou for a matter of variety: so I suppose a new original character, not ninja and with a moveset drastically different (so very likely fast and less powerful, even not oriented toward throws).

They said the female character does not have black hair. I know it sounds cliche but aren't latin girls generally with dark hair?
